sorry, not what im saying

we got locked down at whatever number of infections

theres plenty more now over that number

They definitely need to address this quickly.

It has to be seen to be fair or people really will start to get restless.

Ideally, set a target of, say, 200 per 100k and it's lockdown+

Anything beneath, and you can open up.

People just might start to behave if a clear target exists. Possibly. Or not.

how many people have died of flu this week?

how many people have committed suicide this week

how many people have died from cancer this week

how many people have died in road accidents

how many people have gone insane reading leigh white's posts this week?

Suicides, RTA's per year are miles below what we've already had with covid for 7 months. Flu average is 7k ish per Yr, cancer is 165k a year, but its not transmissible so you can't spread it to others, apart from bumming.

In which case, we can't open up pubs and restaurants until we hae a vaccine?

I guess so.

Or until the number of cases comes right down like it was a couple of months ago.

Which probably isn't going to happen while the kids are at school.

So we might need to get used to it sadly!

Ive no desire to go in a pub, but seeing as theres 25 places, so im told, with worse figures than when boltons pubs were closed, id like to hear the justification

Its bollocks

I want to sit outside my pub.

Conspiracy theory no 129.

We are lab rats in Bolton.

Shut the pubs - see what happens.

2 weeks later - figures still rising . ( woah hang on)

3weeks later - figures falling .

See it was the pubs.

Keep em shut.

Rates higher in 8 other places .

Keep pubs open till ten .

What about Bolton ?

Boltons our bench mark.Keep the pubs shut , theres less folk to kick off there  than the North East and Landan .

Back to the fundamental question;

Is the cure worse than the illness?

Told before in KFC (Bury) that we couldn't order inside unless we download the app...

Needless to say we just went home, not being told I have to download an app to buy food.

School in St Helens tested all its pupils, 40 kids tested positive (asymptomatic) and as such the school has closed for 2 weeks. The testing was done in conjunction with PHE, and i doubt they will be doing that one again.

Lovely socially distanced tea time pints,3 of as 2 just wasnt enough. @Sweep how were your evening beverages post dog walk?

Nice, we took him out for a quick walk, then went to a local Turkish restaurant, had some beautiful grilled meats and a could of bottles of Efes then came home. It was most pleasant

Its what happens when you live in a more refined environment. Where people can be trusted.

Caught up with an old colleague of mine who lives in Chorley, went into the boozer no one was taking precautions

Got on the train back To Bolton No one said anything

Taxi from Bolton to lostock no mask on the driver, passed him cash,  no eyelid batted

It’s the first public transport trip I’ve caught in a long time and it was barely any different.

That's shown them then.

Meanwhile, you went home with no food.

Id ask boris but he wont know  :)

Places not in special measures, can folk visit each other if you distance?

Up to 6?

Does the 6 have to be from the same household? Or can it be 6 people from 6 different households? I have no idea any more.

Download it and turn off tracing and cancel when you check in if you feel that way 🤷🏽‍♂️

Just feels a bit wrong to say to people, "Unless you use this you can't buy from here"

The staff were pretty rude tbh, we walked in and were shouted at by some lass with a mask protecting her chin, as we headed to the self service machine rather than the till.

What is the issue folk have with this app? Other than the main one that it was launched by a tory government of course? Are there any real justified objections?

When bolton is on the same rules as the rest of england, ill download it

I do have a fear though that ill find myself being advised to isolate and not being paid....so thatll be the other thing that might stop me

I’ve heard some - how justified or not I don’t know.

Friend of mine’s missus is an NHS Sister. He reckons she had the app and she got a message telling her to isolate. She rang the hospital and was told to ignore it by them and crack on if she had no symptoms as it can’t tell how close they will have been to the infected and “their could even have been a walk-in between”

I don’t believe he’s lying but the whole thing beggars belief.

I do have other friends who are convinced it’s just a data collection exercise. Digital slavery as Ian Brown would say 🤷🏽‍♂️

If someone comes into KFC whilst I'm there and then tests positive, I have to self isolate, my work place doesn't have to pay me.

If social distancing works, then it doesn't make sense.

Plus in the 4 months I've had this phone, I haven't had location on once. I'm not a fan of having my data used and companies do it often in small print. Hence me receiving phone calls most days where my insurance company passed on my crash details. I don't even have a nectar or clubcard.

It's personal choice.
