Sad story behind that photograph.

They found the man's camera some days after the body was recovered. The locals had already lynched the 'wizard' they'd caught earlier. You can see the 'horseless carriage' in the foreground that they dragged him out of. When the hapless photographer took out a black box and captured the image on it, that sent them into a frenzy.  They said he would steal their souls if he happened to catch him and so they burned him, but luckily his camera survived and we got that very rare photograph. I think it was an iPhone 6 that it was took on. This all happened a couple of years ago, before the cultural anthropologists managed to get Leigh declared a UN state of special preservation.

The pic taken is actually in Atherton on Westbourne Ave.

My dad always told me that the Westbourne Ave side of Leigh Road all the way up to Green Hill is Leigh and across the road is Atherleigh (he grew up on the Atherleigh side of Leigh Road opposite what is now the cash & carry).

Still not having it mate, that is Atherleigh, Atherton started at the bus depot

Looking at old boundary lines, Atherleigh was in Atherton. Orchard Lane was the limit crossing into Leigh.

Aberdeen and Celtic in trouble for the behaviour of players.

Just listening to Scotland's daily briefing and they're pretty pissed off with them. Understandably.

Celtic's player went to Spain, came back and played and didn't tell anyone.  Surely a case of gross misconduct if they want to get shut.

Aye. Probably a top player for them though!

Sturgeon phrased it as "consider this as a yellow card for football, any more and well give it a red".

Not my favourite by any means, but she (they) don't pull their punches over this.

Clubs' respective games postponed for a week now for public health reasons.

Total fucknuggets.

Is it better to lockdown for a few days, stamp it out and go back to having no restrictions, or to have prolonged social distancing/mask wearing for months and have the virus passing around anyway?

Come back to me if the lockdown stays for 3 days or whether it is incrementally elongated and expanded... Again.

No, not for me.

She hasn't personally instructed to sfa etc to do anything specific, but the Scottish government is in  discussions with the parties.

From the way it was phrased, the matches will need to be off for public health reasons, as team mates and opponents would be at risk. We'll see what comes out later.

I wonder if they sfa would introduce the possibility of points deductions for teams who have players tossing it off.

Bear in mind they've just had 2 months of normal life. Personally it's been a bit hard to bear when I'm in Victoria the last 2 months when you see Auckland folk on FB out on the piss as normal.
