Leyther_Matt
We’re booked for Cyprus for a wedding in the first week of September. Cracking deal via @Trafas always and just hoping there’s a bit of clarity by the time we’re past deposit-only time.

Assuming other countries will let us in, will we still have to isolate on return? Is it worth booking anything abroad, basically? I’m booked for two but not Greece at end of may which I booked months ago isn’t happening and deposit lost but only 150 quid. Thailand in December is happening though I won’t hear a word to the contrary.
jayjayoghani
May be wrong but the vaccine doesn't prevent onward transmission of Covid? So for international travel to occur you'd need most of population of host country to be vaccinated too? And any other visitors to the same place similarly vaccinated? They’re not certain either way yet. That takes time to prove I expect. I’ll tell my excitable friend to start looking at camper vans. Pretty sure we were told on thusday/friday that AZ is very high in preventing transmission Last years greece is due mid june Ill be vacced up by then Theres no way greece will want to stop me coming, so im in the hands of our clowns The NHS isnt getting overrun in the summer, so we should be good to go, imo
Guest
My only concern is paying good money for restrictions to still be in place
stevieb
Supposed to be going away for a wedding in June. I'm not confident. Especially if this covid hotel on return is still a thing. Not booked owt other than Airbnb yet
Traf
There's a danger of reading stuff and believing too much. Here's my take. Get it booked with a travel agent that offers ABTA/ATOL protection. If it's cancelled by somebody other than you, you get your money back or a future equivalent to what you've paid or more in some cases. I don't envisage any overseas travel this side of May half-term. I DO expect July school holidays to happen. The EU needs the money from tourism. Vaccine stops you getting COVID Masks, social distancing etc stop you spreading it I can't see vaccination being a pre-requisite for travel, but you might still need a pre-travel COVID test. Think that answers everything I've been asked recently.

Traf
I don't think there'll be any isolate upon return come July. You might need testing, though and I'd expect you to be able to get tested upon landing by then. If you're positive you have to isolate anyway. Flight Only? Yeah, I do it reluctantly. There's no money in flight only and very few travel agents can compete with the bucket shops on skyscanner. However, if it's a scheduled flight, we can often do it on a deposit basis, although we'll still be dearer than buying directly from the airline. MancWanderer
Got a delayed long weekend to Belgium booked with Traf from last year. Once that gets the go ahead then I’ll start thinking further ahead. Until then I’m not bothering depressing my self about where I might be able to go

You can have it back at any point if you need it, of course, otherwise I'll be re-booking you as soon as we know where we're at.

I've booked 2 months in SEA. I fly out on 1st Dec. However unless they can get on with vaccinating their elderly then you may have to do 2 weeks in ASQ on arrival. I am reasonably hopeful that this may not be necessary. I know a few who have done it and its both torture and expensive.
