The police know exactly what the context was, any other section of the general public would have been jumped all over.  utterly pathetic police force.

There is a problem for the police, in that the law might make it difficult for them. That said, I'd certainly like to see them arrest a few and let it be tested by lawyers/courts.

At least then, if there are conviction difficulties, then the lawmakers will have a clearer understanding of where precisely the law reinforcements are needed

Laurence Fox is deranged, but surely nobody wants/needs their train drivers offering political opinions over the tannoy?

100 %

Again people are more concerned about who posts certain videos rather than the content.

They have to investigate - and if found guilty of it, then fine (which I think it might have had now) anyway, just 'jumping all over it' in the press to sedate some isn't the way it does, or indeed, should work.

See how it works outside MountsWorld?

It does though. It can mean the struggle within oneself for betterment - the greater Jihad and there is the lesser Jihad.

The contemporary reading of Jihad has really no basis in Islamic teaching ie that of a 'Holy War' - it literally means 'struggle' (and is mainly the stugglew within (that is the greater Jihad) but the contemporary reading has been taken by many (Muslims included) to mean war and only that.

So, as the police have to investigate, they also have to investigate it's meaning and context - as you can't just lock someone up for shouting a word unless that is relating to racial hatred. And any decent lawyer would point out the different meaning, despite what populist rhetoric the home secretary is coming out with.

This isn't a defence of using would could be racially sensenstive at a time of highened tensions. Its just explaining why the police have a job to do, and that pushing this sort of discourse doesn't help.

It's patently absurd to suggest Hizb ut-Tahrir mean it in any sense of than a call to arms

As is the fact they haven't been proscribed as a terrorist organisation

Its not aburd for a spokesperson for the police to say what they are doing about and how they are looking into it to the press.

To suggest anything other when fielding press calls, that's absurd, kidda.

The statement was in the form of an unprompted reply to a Tweet rather than the fielding of a press call, and explains they've taken the view that no offence has been committed

So, a speaker at a rally organised by Hizb ut-Tahrir, whilst stood in front of a banner calling for "Muslim Armies to rescue the people of Palestine", repeatedly encouraged the audience to engage in Jihad

And the police determine no action is required because it could, theoretically, be the case he was urging an internal struggle

I believe someone has been looked at and is now is custody, and the MET requested help on this - and indeed have thanked the feedback on Twitter, and moreover as the statement says there are multiple meanings to the word, which is factually correct.

FFS indeed, its really not that difficult this stuff.

No arrests have been made and the authorities have stated they have no intention of making any

I'm not doubting the word has multiple meanings, I'm suggesting that in the context of the word being shouted during a rally held by a known Islamist group, in front of a banner calling for "Muslim Armies" to rise up, the intent seems pretty clear

sorry but you are wrong. The Met have investigated using people who far more about this than you..

The guy was quite clearly just using a different meaning of the word..

Like when you say "I'm going to kill you" and not really mean it..

Keep up..

Was it definitely the driver? You get these personal tannoys that are being used on the tube all the time for comedy videos etc.

Either way it’s not a big deal. If it was him he’ll probably get a warning which is fair enough.

The key point for me is that Laurence Fox says the person speaking is spreading hate. Which is nonsense. Or as you worded it - deranged.

“Blessed Day” & “Free Palestine” 😂

What a fckn snowflake Fox has turned into these days.

Disturbing?

Haha

The transcript to the video says “would you feel safe” and says it is an example of “good hate in Khans London”.

You said people should be “concerned” with the content of the video.

What is concerning about what is said in clip?

No I didn’t. You are probably best of reading it again. You’ve a habit of doing this
