Folk want to read up about something like Edwin Chadwick and Cholera and realise that serious public health issues weren't thousands of years ago.

We should be down on bended knees thanking whatever diety you choose that we can turn this around and save lives, and that we are not exempt. Our lifestyles keep mortality away from our everyday existence, as soon as something comes along and punchers our little delusional bubble people want to act like ostriches.

Can't say I've spoken to an anti vaccine person, unless they have qualifications in medicine or virology I'm not sure I'd be listening to their counter 'arguments' 

It always happens though, and it's not just down to social media, as my example of Edwin Chadwick and his poor law sanitation reforms, builders, planners and engineers thought he was out of his mind and looked to disavow his reforms which saved hundreds of thousands of lives.

There are hundreds of examples just like that. Social media just means more are exposed to it, but the same was said for the printing press to spread sedition. The main difference being pamfleteers were generally learned people.

but her life was devastated as a kid following a polio jab

 

never knew her without them caliper things

ended up permanently in a chair by 50

 

so i do get folks concerns, but her sister - my wife - didnt hesitate to get this or take our kids for all their early years jabs

Daughter and her boyfriend now Cov+ so we’re down a couple for Christmas Day.

Tested positive six days ago. Classic Omicron symptoms. Its essentially a head cold and I've had far, far worse. This after three Moderna shots. 

Can consider myself lucky to have avoided Wuhan, Kent and Delta I suppose! 

It won't be stopping me enjoying a couple of bottles of Dartmoor Jail Ale later.

End of November I had the sorest of sore throats after the Fleetwood in that Pizza Cup. Just about getting to the end of it now. Done a LFT every two or three days throughout and nothing. All the symptoms but it was just a bad cough. We had them pre-March 2020 and just because this pandemic came along it ought not to be the catch-all diagnosis for every cough, sneeze and fart.

If we have another pandemic in 20/30 years the 3 million anti Vaxxers in this country could soon be 10 million. Its just going to become another common winter hazard. What I've had wouldn't make 99 people out of 100 bat an eyelid. I know I'm lucky in when I've caught it but if this is representative of the general state of play re Omicron its time for the world to move on. My Dad (78) has had it too, same mild symptoms.
