"It's going to collapse" I said quietly and they all looked at me in disbelief, I studied the World Trade Centre when doing my construction degree and knew it was a steel frame "cantilever tube" construction with a passive 90 minute fire protection spray to the structure... We’d all got our jobs done by lunch and decided to have an afternoon of cards and TV at BTs cost. We all sat there quietly watching the telly until after 6. I may booked some overtime. FoH woman ran into the marketing office shouting they're blowing up America. We all just laughed at her, telling her to calm down. Watched the news at night with housemates who id just moved in with. It was all hard to picture until getting home that evening and switching on the TV. Even after going through long periods of the 80s and early 90s with terrorism evident in the UK (IRA etc) this was very, very hard to process.
