Members Rudy
All rise for the honourable judge Rudy Today we bring you the case of The 1988 action film Staring Bruce Willis & The late great Alan Rickman, is this a Christmas film Yes or No? I will hear from both sides and make a decision, now from previous posts you may find that I am in favour of it being a Christmas film, however as this is a democracy I am willing to go with a majority and listen to both sides of the argument. I have included a poll but I would advise to listen to both points before you do in fact make a decision Court is now in session

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 6, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted December 6, 2021 I'll go for yes. Like home alone, it's set during Christmas time, so even if not directly about Christmas, it will do.
Site Supporter Spider Posted December 6, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted December 6, 2021 Christmas films are films that you will only watch around Christmas time. Die Hard is a film you will watch any time of year. Ergo, not a Christmas film. Unless you’d watch Elf on a Tuesday night in April.

Site Supporter Winchester White Posted December 6, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted December 6, 2021 Of course! Home Alone is a classic Christmas film as is Die Hard.
gonzo
I say it is. I wouldn't watch Elf any time of year by the way. About as funny as cancer.

Dimron
Stagecoach and Jason and the Argonauts are the only Christmas Day films allowed. Seeing those in B&W on the old rented TV in the morning made you realise Christmas had finally arrived

Just because it’s set on Christmas Eve and has a tree in one of the scenes, it doesn’t make it my definition of a Christmas film. Christmas films are about the redemption of the protagonist, who is changed in a positive way as a direct result of the fact that it is the season of goodwill. The only Christmas redemption in Die Hard is a dead German in a lift. Which I think misses the point. Also, Elf is fucking shit.
Members Rudy
It’s on Christmas Eve. he’s going to a Christmas party. The Christmas party has cocaine, shagging in the office a dead guy in a Santa hat. Going home to see his kids on Christmas. Need I say more?
