They’ll rest Jimmy, unless the weather is looking cloudy as it’ll swing more in Leeds.

I just want us to shithouse them now because fuck em

Headingley is usually all about the weather, which looks variable.

Need Wood’s pace, the spin of Mooen, Tongue will play, so Jimmy or Broad miss out, I expect.

is it finished? Possibly not, there’s clearly not so much between the teams, shoulda, woulda so far.  Hope lessons have been learned. Another short ball fest?

They're certainly nothing special.

Can't really have it both ways. If the Aussies are shite then England can't be much good either.

England have missed some opportunities and it should probably be 1-1. But Australia are playing away from home, have lost the toss twice, had the worst of the conditions, their best batsman hasn't scored a run and they played the bulk of this game with 10 men.

Two very good teams, two brilliant games.

Indeed

They're currently the reigning WTC champions and are 2-0 up after two Test matches away from home

They might not be at the level of the Australia of the 90s because few teams ever will be but they're a proper outfit

The Bairstow dismissal. It was sloppy by Bairstow. Can't blame the Aussies for doing it. It's never easy throwing down the stumps with them gloves on from back there. The keeper could have easily missed. If he had missed then I bet Bairstow wouldn't have been as cavalier about leaving his crease that early for the rest of his innings.

Good post.

Don’t like saying it, especially after their unsporting nature (tossers), but they are the best in the world.

We’re not far off.

We are so good to watch and we will get better.

Don’t think anyone in the last 4/5 years have given the Aussies as much to think about as we have these last 2 tests.

The fact that they are rolling out injured players, resorting to short pitched bowling as their conventional bowling was being demolished and finally relying on wickets that go against the spirit of the game, demonstrates they are worried.

This isn’t a series where we are being smashed, with no answers, looking like the writings on the wall for a whitewash.

We might be 2-0 down but this series is still alive…

Controversial suggestion but maybe we should stop playing the Aussies at Lords. They rarely lose there.

Ridiculous not controversial. Most touring teams up their game when they play at Lords. Do we not play anymore tests there? Or do we just not play the Aussies? Its a bit like throwing the towel don't you think. The atmosphere at Lords is well below average at best. I actually thought the atmosphere at this Test was pretty good. We even had Ultras in the long room.

I'd have thought so, I've actually just turned down a jolly up there tomorrow, as per usual, we've been let down by some customers and now we're trying to get rid of 4 spare tickets. I can't be arsed going, and we're scraping around looking for customers to take up the offer, so far, I guess at it's too short notice, no takers yet.

It was the same at the last test, we ended up giving, across the first and second day, about 6 tickets away to randoms outside the ground (well, I heard we gave them away, but I suspect they were sold and the cash pocketed 😉

Smiley is after some ;)

If we weren't supposed to be getting customers to go, then I'd happily give them away. Judging by the lack of interest from everybody we're contacting, I doubt there will be a problem getting in tomorrow if somebody really can be bothered getting over there.

No need to offer them to me, I’m otherwise engaged
