So you've no idea. Just like me. There's a bloke in the village i grew up in who was sent down for molesting his own kids. He moved back in with his wife when he got out. One of his kids beat the shit out of him on release. He didn't move house. Surname Kervin. His son died last year in a "hit and run". Family of criminals. They were white. Theres a bloke from the same village currently on trial for historic paedo offences, Rab Macdonald. Not moved, walks about the village every day. Scottish. I was a juror for a trial where an accused paedo lived next door to his alleged victim for 5 years after the original accusations. Neither family moved. How weird is that.

Rab Macdonald? Scottish? You're joking?!?

I do have an idea.

Bolton fan named and shamed a few month back, moved out of town before it reached the papers, guy in LH had his house windows put through and door set on fire the day it was released that he was a nonce, never been seen since.

What you need to be wondering is why “Rab McDonald” isn’t being chased out of town

The Kervin one didn't move because he was a hardened twat who didn't care. The Scottish bloke is a full on Christian church lover so maybe he thinks God will protect him or something. Who knows.

The one that you're on about is apparently back at his mums, having been in Blackpool for a week or so, until his money ran out. Apparently.

He lives on a farm?

So a news outlet reports on the leader of a grooming gang is convicted and issued a deportation order.

He's then cracked on and lived a normal life working in the town he sexualy abused, drugged, gang raped and ruined the lives of children there.

He's not been deported because "Pakistan don't want him"

Hes working whilst building a property in the country that "doesn't want him"

I'm really struggling to grasp how this can be considered as click bait or being sensationalised in any way shape or form.

How can anyone possibly lay this at the door of the reporting news outlet or journalist?

It's honestly no wonder these cases were allowed to manifest and grow with folk like @peelyfeet

You are part of the problem.

How does stating facts make someone "part of the problem"? What is your preferred solution, and what are you doing about it?

My preferred solution is for you shut the fuck up.

If me shutting up resulted in that cunt getting sent back to Pakistan, I would gladly do it. But it won't, so I won't.

So you've told me to shut the fuck up, and that's failed. What's your next preferred solution, and what are you doing about it?

:D

My solution?

After his crimes he should never have seen the light of day again. Up there with murder for me.

What do we do about it? Fuck knows.

I don't really know what to do about climate change or people drink driving and killing people.

Doesn't mean it shouldn't be reported.

And it certainly doesn't mean folk should downplay it or be offended by folks outrage just because there's no apparent solution.

What's the point in any form of discussion if it just gets shut down because some people don't like the source of that discussion.

How can anyone in their right mind think that any of it is OK?

We've got peelyfeet trying to split hairs and pull apart the discussion over whether this feel might come in to Contact with victims delivering pizzas?

That isn't stating fact. It's just bollocks.

And like I said earlier, if his young girl had been abused and the monster was still working in his town he might think differently.

Its a 3 - 9 year old story. The update is that there are high level talks and pakistan are willing to negotiate taking them back and have asked if we will restore direct flights as part of bargaining, which we have said is unrelated.

But the daily mail and those who repeat their garbage, like GB news won't get as many clicks or people outraged on chat rooms if they make the update the headline and the main part of the story. They need ad revenue so they repeat old news and get people like you riled up.

Everyone thinks he should be deported. The news is that might be closer.

It has been reported for years. The outlets you're reading arent telling you whats happened. They're repeating the outrage bit over and over because they're not interested in their readers being informed. They produce ragebait and soft porn garbage to get people to click on their shitty articles.

A video of a bloke from GB news parroting a Daily Mail article snipped to a few soundbites for clicks.

The story is, there are high level talks between the UK govmt and Pakistan to get it sorted, not some people in Rochdale dont like him being there and some faceless people in Pakistan say he's built a house off the back of pizza money.

Nothing then.

Nobody has 'downplayed' it or been 'offended' as far as I can tell. Talk about it until the cows come home. But don't pretend the Daily Mail, GBNews and their ilk report this stuff because they care. Peely is spot on. It's all about clicks and sensationalism. And it clearly works very well.

Anyway, must dash, there's a deliveroo driver at the door, he might be an axe murderer from 1998 so I'll be careful.

So you see humour in this situation? An interesting take.

Where is the concern for the victims?

As long as the scumbag who did it is at large, those girls can have absolutely no justice, and may have all sorts of ptsd type problems bubbling up again.

Perhaps a few more to join the list whilst the evil scum is free.

Ah, but fuck it, there's nothing we can do about it, and anyone reporting on and discussing it, is just being racist and doing it for clicks.

Not only is this attitude part of the problem, but it is contributing to the increase in separation between communities, which will only strengthen those beliefs and attitudes at odds with basic, decent British values.

That happens to involve predominantly Muslims, although not solely, that's the reality, and if some decide that that fact equates to racism then tough shit. Get over it.

Interestingly there is currently live coverage of a dinghy crossing the Channel. French naval patrol boat just behind it.

Mr Macron's amazing "clamp down" during his visit didn't last long.

But making a joke about 56 people burning to death inside a football stadium is ok?

Saw an interesting thing in the commons yesterday. Nigel Farage asking a question about the boats. That’s when he was allowed to due to the amount of shouting from all sides trying to interrupt him. Not a good sight.
Ironically, I noticed Corbyn behind him shaking his head, presumably, not happy with the shouting.

Yes I watched that. Months of complaining that Farage doesn’t show up in the commons then when he does they try and prevent him from speaking.

It was quite ironic/humorous timing that he was called straight after Starmer's statement about "fraudsters, grifters, and con artists" though. And Farage's question was pathetic. Moaning about a problem he helped cause, whilst blaming the French.

Another interesting thing I saw on the BBC this morning during the reporting of the Macron visit.

‘On Wednesday, the prime minister’s spokesman said the government has been "addressing" what French President Emmanuel Macron said were "migration pull factors" that encourage migrants to try to reach the UK.’

These ‘pull factors’ have been mentioned many times on here but maybe a French President’s comments will persuade the government to finally do something. (Any government)
