Ani Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 4m voted for Reform, that is a fuck lot of people. Not everyone with concerns about immigration voted for Reform The Challenge for Starmer is how he addresses those concerns. He is in a good place to do it as he does not need to demonise specific minority groups to make the majority feel better. If alongside that he can get the economy moving a lot of the social issues will seem less extreme. So if he could address the issues around immigration - the backlog and what we do the rejected applicants - and then sort the economy it will be a good first 6 weeks although I am sure some will still blame him for the state of our midfield Quote

Sadly, as a lefty snowflake who doesn't believe Islam is the root of every issue in our society, I feel I'd be pissing in the wind 😊 Quote

Ani Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Twitter users latest deflection tactic is to blame Starmer and the 'legacy' media (this has replaced MSM as the description) for putting out false stories about events tonight causing all the disruption. What a strange world Quote

Wanderlust Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 The vast number of counter-protestors that turned out tonight just goes to show what a tiny proportion of the population have "legitimate concerns" about immigration. The racists are a tiny, tiny, tiny gobby minority. Quote

Who would have thought that the real world is many shades of grey rather than just black & white. Rain is the short term route out of this and economic growth (that is shared beyond the 1%) is the long term one. Quote

Im in the middle of a cracking book at the minute, to be fair I thought you may have been the main character who is also the author. It’s called the Madonna of Bolton. Young lad at school, shit at football, hung around with girls and was always being bullied. Quote

Since then, there have been 10,310 homes built by councils, giving the Conservatives an even more handsome win than Ms May suggested. Not saying this is wrong, but what is the source? Quote
