davidjack
We had 17k against Wigan last year and 22k against Liverpool (albeit with 5k away fans) which was a night match and on BBC1. My money's with Mounts.

Members burnden
Knowing our luck, they'll bring their lowest away crowd since records began  Chatting to a leeds lad who was one of those who got their south stand filled and making a noise again , he was also in the meeting with cellino when the fans were trying to buy the club...........He reckons there is unrest amonst their fans and that we have over estimated by giving them 6800. Mounts Kipper
19723 v Plovdiv our first ever european home game 15905 v Zenit St Petersburg 19288 v Marseille  18932 v Rabotnicki 10229 v Aris Salonika (and about 1500 of them) 26163 v Atletico Madrid @ £10 a ticket 25664 v Sporting Lisbon @£10 a ticket  These are cup attendances in our peak years against teams we'd never played before at prices cheaper than the Leeds game.  Anyone who thinks we'll top 20k is on crack/ Just out of interest how many Bolton fans do you expect to be on that day? davidjack
23k for Arsenal in 6th round in 2005 - lunchtime ko on the BBC. The one where Diouf got sent off for fuck all.
stevieb
Just out of interest how many Bolton fans do you expect to be on that day?  For the Leeds game? Not many more than last night. I'd say 16k in total.  I think we've had home league games hold up relatively well because of season ticket sales. I don't think many will see this as a glamorous tie. It's £20 most folk won't have budgeted for.  Last night was Tuesday and a tenner, this is Saturday but it's £20. I reckon we're looking at similar numbers of home fans.  I'd love to be proved wrong but I can't see it.

radcliffe white
It's been poorly attended for years fa cup, Blackpool, Sheffield Utd, Tottenham, Everton all brought largest followings and still poor crowds and cheap tickets.
davidjack
Same at most places tho, outside the top few, many of whom include cup tickets in season tickets. Only 16k Villa fans last night.

C86
Fair play to the club, get the most we can, every penny counts.  Bit of segregation over the first few rows of north end of west upper and Leeds could sell close to 10k, might be a useful £150 to £200k that.  Home team doesn't keep all the cash, is it split 3 ways? FA, Home team Away Team?

davidjack
That Tranmere game was in 2000 when we hadn't become an established Premier League club. 5 or 6 years before that we'd been averaging 10k. Since then we've had 11 consecutive Premier League years and really built up our support base - especially with cheap kids tickets. All of which is now in danger of being thrown away by the cunts who are destroying our club. Edited January 20, 2016 by davidjack

davidjack
I'm offering some context. I was as pissed off as you by those crowds. I couldn't get off work to make it up from London for the Villa game so was especially pissed off by that one. Made the second leg. And I drove up and back through driving rain for Tranmere at home. I just don't think slagging folk off for not going does any good. Most on here do go anyway. I'd rather look at ways of building our support.
