100% behind Sharon on this. Went to first away of season at Burton and the foul/disgusting abuse some of our “fans” were spouting at our own players/staff is bang out of order. Yes we’d been spanked by Wigan and yes wasn’t a great game, but no excuse. Would those same folk (or their managers with a duty of care) tolerate this at their work if they were having an off day? No. Passion and criticism is one thing but foul mouthed, really personal abuse is another. Grow up. Short memories? We nearly didn’t have a club 4 years ago. We won at Wembley 4 months ago. We’ve been in the top 3 all season so far. These folk need to give their heads a wobble or stop coming. And no, I’m not a snowflake. And yes I’ve been watching donkeys years (since ‘76) and seen ups/downs. And yes I’m expecting this post to get abuse as well!4 likes

Many of the people celebrating Eid these days are as British as you or me. Eid becoming more popular doesn’t mean we’re becoming a Muslim country. Paranoia like this makes you sound like some one in a Louis Theroux documentary.2 likes

As an aside, I quoted 2 families for a trip to Lanzarote departing yesterday, approx £3k per couple. One booked with me, one booked with Love Holidays to save about £40 (it actually ended up more expensive, but that’s another story). Anyway, my clients got to their hotel 13 hours late. The other couple had their holiday cancelled about 3 hrs before their friends flew out. Love Holidays will refund them within 14-28 working days.2 likes

Yes, I was surprised how big the gulf was. We played well 1st half hour but I remember thinking Boro just didn't look interested, they were very half hearted, and we were sharper and deserved to lead. Last hour they looked streets ahead, they took off their 3 best attackers and I thought we'd have a chance but their subs had even more impact. Enjoyed watching them, and their support was great considering the run they've been on. We defended well generally and Baxter made a worldie of a save at 1-1, but certainly a wake up call for any thoughts that our players might be able to aspire to championship level. Men against boys.1 like

It’s quite apparent that our mentality is weak and we need leaders, I’d be looking to ship out and ship in 2 or 3.1 like

It's been mentioned on the news a few times about people acting up at concerts (concerts, not gigs!) since covid as well, chucking stuff on stage etc. The whole coke thing seems a bit out of control at the moment too, to me. It's always been there since I've been going but currently it's rife. I'm in danger of sounding like I'm getting old (ahem) but some of the current scene at games gets on my tits and is perhaps egged on by a social media peer pressure to act as mad as possible at games, like celebrating a goal like a total fucking lunatic. Why just have a bounce around and and a bit of ecstatic swearing when you could throttle someone and drag your mates down a few rows into a heap instead? Might get you a few likes on football aways days that!1 like

I was at Burton and heard no OTT abuse at all, certainly nothing that nearly crossed the line. We do have a bloke sat behind us at home games who turns on certain players for very little. Others players his faves never a word is said. in terms of Sharon's note the key is the level of abuse. I pay my money and I do think that gets me the right to criticise any aspect of the club. It does not give me the right to launch personal vitriolic abuse at anyone. Sharon has a view of the club as a community and part of that is showing a level of respect to each others. If that does not happen it could ultimately lead to her and FV walking away, not saying that is pending but it could happen.1 like

We do have some feral cunts "supporting" us. Seen some right nasty bastards who haven't got a clue about football. And I don't mean the AHM or Redcliffe's lot either......1 like

John Williams is a wonderfully evocative composer. When I watched the film, Schindler’s List I first assumed the track running in the background was music of the period. It seems Spielberg asked him for “Some mournful Jewish music” or something.1 like

I'm sorry, is the club threatening bans to people here who give Hart and Evatt a bit of stick? Even online? Get fucked. Who's the barometer of the nastiness? Is there an objective metric or just if one of them gets their feelings hurt? It's pathetic for me this. This sort of softness from top to bottom is the reason we get spanked in big games against rivals that are far more up for it than we are.1 like

It hasn't been a great couple of days, but all my returning clients got home and all my departing clients made it to their destinations. Some were, admittedly, delayed but there's not much can be done about that. We didn't cancel anyone's trips like some other companies did.1 like

What on earth is wrong with some people? We’re all passionate about our team but there is absolutely no excuse either verbally or on line for abuse, especially when we’re sitting 3rd in the table. OK the performance against Wigan was awful and most players had a bad day but it happens. Look at Port Vale trounced 7-0 in their first game and look where they are now. As for IE, he will always do what he believes is right whatever we think because he’s going to judged on it. I wasn’t at Burton so can’t comment on what might have been said by some but if we are to get promoted this year we need to get behind and support management and players not create animosity which will only hamper us.1 like

So was Rudy proven to be a Walter Mitty type? I also believed him because why would you make something up and then put so much time into it just to fool idiots like me on a footie forum. On topic, peados should be thrown into active volcanoes.1 like

For me we still have an issue up top but really no room to add another dion & vic being the starters then that’s about it, still not sure vic will deliver if I’m honest JDB will spend more time out Dan & Jerome who unfortunately don’t seem to have much about them1 like

They bloody well should. I would love soul afficionado's in the US to see this. Be fascinating to get their take on it. On a day off from chasing Stringer Bell, Lester Freamon seemed to really love it.1 like

Apparently we cashed in on his add ons relating to appearances and all that As in it was meant to be like 500k after 50 appearances but we took 200k instead after 20 But not the sell on clause, that remained as was1 like

Their first album was good They went from nobodies to arenas in two albums Fair enough but nothing I've heard since their first album was anywhere as near as good, and that wasn't exactly a classic, it was just decent at the time And his solo stuff was as middle of the road as it comes Its music for people who aren't into music and go out for meals before a gig1 like

I will probably watch the game and certainly want them to win. The players whilst professional in their approach do have an endearing old fashioned feel when interviewed, maybe because they are not all multi millionaires by the their teenage years and part of a well oiled trained PR machine that we see in the Men's game. I do think however that the Women's game needs to build its own identity, constant comparisons to the men's game in terms of money, quality and wether the king should attend games all feels a bit desperate, especially as in virtually every aspect the product is inferior. It is a bit like comparing test match cricket with all its traditions, history and faults with the 100. We have had a life time of investing emotion into the men's football, the best in my experience was 1990 but for others in this country it will go back to 1966 ( not old enough to remember 70 or much from 74), how can the women's WC that was first held in 91 expect to match that ? I know it is only a song but footballs coming home talks about 'that tackle by Moore' and 'Nobby dancing' all part of the anguish of watching England play. The lionesses (no problem with the nickname for me) deserve to make their history and legacy as a stand alone sport not piggy-backing or being compared to the Men's game. Curling became a national obsession for a couple of weeks, middle distance running for a while, the decathlon and heptathlon were the greatest Olympic events for a while. Hopefully women's football will have a longer legacy, I think it will, but who knows ?1 like
