Being serious

Would you be shocked if we ended up playing thursday, fucking up orient?

Tuesday 16th Jan is 90% fav.

Burnley/Luton is now Friday instead of Monday 15th.
We won't be on telly, so it's Tues or Weds and we prefer Tuesdays as a club.

Very

It will be Tuesday

Or Wednesday

Absolutely no reason for it to be Thursday

One of the replays will be played on the Thursday, for TV.

Theres no reason that it wont be us. (theres no reason it will be either).

Fleetingly heard during the Liverpool game that they’d already outlined who the Thursday game would be. Presumably anyone already scheduled for the following Sunday.

Is that for definite?

I found this on the sun website which suggest it's unlikely

And Luton have already moved their game v Burnley from Monday to the Friday before, so can't see it

But matches could get played up until Thursday, January 18 depending on how many fixtures there are.

Luton’s game being moved (shitter for their fans) has us nailed on for the Tuesday really.

Ok no one wants to play this game.

£34.50

You only gave us 12 minutes! We're not all constantly refreshing every thread in case someone starts a new guessing game. Anyway seems very reasonable.

That's instead of playing a Saturday game though and not having to move a game

I'm even surprised that Luton v Burnley was scheduled for a Monday during a week penciled in for replays

Not saying it's never happened but I can't recall league games having to be rescheduled because of cup replays on a Thursday

Bristol City v West Ham based on that.

The Luton-Burnley thing suggests nowt is off the table, though they did point out it was subject to change when tickets went on sale.

Wolves don’t play until the following Monday so I’d have a hunch the Wolves-Brentford game goes to the Thursday.

Article in The Sun reckons Thursday is likely if there an unspecified high number of replays.

Anyway. Not long since back. What a grand day out.

A proper cup tie. Two teams playing it on the deck with high tempo. No quarter asked, none given. Feared the worst with our spec on the terracing(!) at the back of the seats with a letterbox view that Anfield would be proud of, but we didn’t lose sight of the ball for a single second which spoke volumes of the two teams.

Thought we were in trouble with the speed and intensity of their press in the first 15-20 minutes, but once we’d seen that through we really grew in to the game and I thought we were the better side for much of the first half. Second half followed a fairly similar pattern where we struggled to make much ground early on but again got more and more confident and ultimately Luton were hanging on at the end.

Outstanding to a man, but special mentions for Adebayejo for leading the line tremendously and the wing backs for working their nuts off throughout. Toal struggled a bit early on but once he got those jitters out of the way then the whole back three were excellent, Forrester in particular. Baxter safe as houses, too, even with their pressing. Barkley looked a class above in their midfield and yet still managed to make much of a headway.

Was questioning my life choices when the alarm went off at 5.15am but trains down there went so smoothly that we were in Luton half an hour earlier than planned by virtue of arriving in to Euston 15 minutes early and then straight over to St Pancras (directing @Biggish Davein the process). Went in George II by the station and all friendly enough, then round to the Wheelwright Arms which, despite being covered in orange from top to bottom, was friendly to such an extent that they invited us back after the game!

Away end as batshit crazy as widely publicised. Great atmosphere and deserved ovation at the end.

Trains all to plan and, even allowing for a pint in the Rocket and the usual Sainsbury’s run at Euston, I was back on the couch within four hours of leaving Luton.

Did my usual double chance ‘investment’ bet and that’s the replay paid for. £15 and 13k, I reckon. And I reckon we’ll sneak a win.

Good to see plenty of faces as always. Bring on the draw. COYWM
