Just had a flashback to people singing "oh Paris Maghoma" to the bloke warming up on the touchline.

It was Dan Nlundulu 😀

Similar confusion here

I know as the game went on with derby winning we may have switched off but it’s concerning how quickly we crumbled

Yeh even me on the more positive end of the scale sees this. That opening 20 mins of the 2nd half typifies why we aren’t going up automatically.

That said I wonder if the state of the scores at the time had a part to play in why our intensity dropped off?

Evatt has said it did, also affected the coaching staff going off what he said.

Not reading too much into it.

Hopefully they were just easing off a touch knowing more games to come.

Evatt played it really well today, but I don’t expect he’ll get much credit.

He was on a hiding to nothing. Play it cautious and Derby Fuck up he loses.

Go hung-ho gets injuries and fucks us up he loses.

He did right. Maghoma wasn’t 100% he didn’t risk him. He went for it in the first half. Knew it wasn’t going to happen, made 5 subs.

We put in a performance, kept the fans happy, kept the squad motivated and injury free. What more could he have done?

I think it's more the second-half collapse is a bit symptomatic of the season as a whole. Ultimately we got something out of it though

Our defending second half was piss poor and we couldn’t cope with their pace. But like people have said we eased off knowing Derby were winning.

peterborough fans I was talking to on the way back to the car are shit scared of Oxford as they lost there 5-0 a couple of weeks ago. Sooner play Oxford if we get past Barnsley

Its obvious we struggled to get worked up about winning a nothing game

@desperadoa true positive type would take big ticks from em going again at 3 2 down

From 3 2 we were most likely to score

anyway, it was meaningless from 1235

I told my lad to stop stressing. I said it would be totally different if Derby were not winning. I told him it made no difference to the playoffs. Hope I’m right.

Feel we are being kind here as my small insight to the game. At 1-0 should of been no let up. We’ve seen this plenty of times this season and it makes me wonder what is discussed at HT.

As said though mini league begins

Don’t quite agree with that Casino. I think the first 30 minutes showed we were well up for it and would have done what we needed if the other game allowed. It’s a massive positive for me that we started the game how we did, we were good enough to blow them away when we wanted to.

I said during the game that it really looked like the intensity dropped second half. I know it’s not a new thing for us, but it doesn’t surprise me that Evatt mentioned about them dropping their levels after hearing the Derby score, it’s human nature.

I think we struggled to get worked up once we started conceding, it was almost like “ah well, so what” but that only happened once we knew it wasn’t possible, up until then we were brilliant and hopefully he can get that level of performance through the next 3 games when clearly there’s something riding on every minute.

Collins looked like he knew it wasnt happening to me

Dion was, well, Dion

Always likely to score, always likely to miss, a pest, certainly first half when there was poss something on

Thought Dion looked more like his old self.  Getting fitter.  Good header early on, decent pen, but should have buried that one he blasted over the bar.

Thought Dempsey had his best game for a while as well.

Dempsey was really good and Williams had a good first half. Thomason and Cogley weren’t at their best today.

Shit officials again with us getting the first three bookings even though they were kicking shit out of us. Their second goal was a mile offside

Cogley was just Cogley. Two weeks ago, I used to think of him as our most overrated player. It’s now the most overrated player in League 1.

Cogley deprives Gethin Jones of his best position in our formation. In turn, Jones deprives Eoin Toal of his best position and Toal deprives our best fit left centre half (Iredale) of his place in our team.

That defence and RWB would solve a lot of current problems.

I like Cogley. What I don’t understand is a team obsessed with rotation he plays every minute

I actually thought that Madley reffed it well in the first half. Shame he had to be replaced because the chap in the second half was just your typical shite L1 ref.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Madley as the ref in one or more of the play off games - you can tell that he’s reffed at a higher level because he’s just a bit calmer and more sensible whereas the rest are power hungry wankers that are trying to prove themselves.
