Pitiful by Barnsley leaving empty seats when they won't fill them and we will. This isn't me just having a gripe at Barnsley, I said the same about us initially v Pompey, but then we did fill most of the rest of the South stand so it actually turned out to be the right decision.

Whereas we know Barnsley will not take a single seat in that away stand, instead thousands of football fans will effectively be locked out of watching one of the key games in the season. If the EFL can't sort stuff like this they aren't fit for purpose

FA Cup is 15%  away allocation upto 9k.

Would have thought the play-offs would have fallen into same bracket, clearly not!! Amateurs

Should have 3500.

im not even arsed

rushing around, no refreshments, nowt getting decided

plus its live on proper telly

I totally get it, been there and done that for decades now.

Its just not worth the hassle for mid-week aways, with I-follow etc.

That WMC place at Barnsley in March was full of people who had driven, arriving 6-30 onwards, quick pint or two and off to the game then rush home and into work next day. Fair play btw.

Social experience so different to a Saturday. So flat.

Friday may be a little more lively re play-offs and Friday factor mind.

So I think what you are both saying is it’s a decision that both clubs made/agreed in line with EFL regulations?

With essentially the reason being it means both clubs are happy they don’t have to deal with a big away following which proves advantageous?

Again all of which I understand.

But I don’t like it and I don’t agree with it! 🤣

You could apply that to any game/match/occasion.

I get it in a sell out game, the 3000 (or 10% rule if less than 30,000 the prem use - used to use -) is more understandable than leaving stadiums/stands empty when they can/could be used.

Big difference as Traf points out is the gate money going to every man and his dog for this, no incentive for clubs to invite more away fans than necessary.  Added to prices being reduced anyway compared to league games.  But from the EFLs point of view, if they are taking a cut, shouldn't they be insisting every seat is sold so that they get more income?  Unless their cut is minimal, they are missing a trick. (The clubs will probably point out the increased policing and stewarding costs with bigger away crowds).

Its such a shame for the play offs, I've enjoyed them since the 80s whether or not we've been involved, and the fact that we may never see a big ground with a big away following again is another example of football doing itself a disservice by spoiling the spectacle.

Friday afternoon in Barnsley this time no WMC.

Similar announcement to last time in due course.

Was talking to a father  and son (Dad aged 60+) who were booted out of Spoons @ 4PM at the March game. Every main town centre boozer had doors covered from that time - tickets requested.

Unless you venture down the side streets of course. There’s plenty of pubs to go at in Barnsley.

We only have one seat each though!!!

Get over it.  It isn't for extra away tickets so just call it an extra 50 pounds the club wouldn't otherwise have

Does anybody know if I'll have a problem getting my daughter a child's ticket for next Tuesday when on open sale? I'm a STH but want to sit in a different seat with her for the playoff match. She's not and I only signed her up as  a member yesterday. The message sent out says members need to have an account registered from 20th April.

Be amazed if we sell out, certainly not in just one day. I think you will be fine.

Probably worth emailing the ticket office so they can update your daughter’s account ready for buying online
