Pretty sure he could put himself about and tackle and he’s already mastered the short pass to someone who can actually play a bit.
But as neither of us have seen him attempting that role there is no value in definitive statements either way.

That said, folk laughed when winger Thierry Henry was tried out as a striker. Didn’t laugh for long though.

He's at his best when he's the last line of defence and can be reactive, often using his strength and pace to get him and us out of trouble

Defensive midfielders need to anticipate the pass and be proactive because the play is happening around them

He'd be completely bypassed

And also, the further forward on the pitch, the quicker the play, and his technique isn't good enough to play the kind of quick, intricate passes he'd need to

Never saw Muamba then? 😀

A birdie tells me there might have been a breach of Rule E3(1) of the FA Rules and Regulations regarding Evatt's conduct with the fans.

Not certain, but isn’t this rule around abusive language and/or behaviour towards the referee and other match officials, rather than fans?

Was there today, and everyone has their opinion of how we played a poor Cambridge side. My point is how absolutely classless Bolton fans are. The chants I heard about Evatt were frankly embarrassing....If you want him out, protest outside the Directors post match soiree. Don't disrespect our great club and its players wearing the shirt by booing them off and cheering a player being substituted. We are better than that. Again f*ckin embarrassing.

Oh bore off you knob

Mostly but it can involve anything that is seen to be "bringing the game into disrepute" It's what Barton was charged with after mooning fans.

Oh aye

Fair enough. Just seen Vic switching off when their keeper spilled the ball, scary, but how do we ever get rid of the likes of him. Like many others,I was in my car at the time

Can’t believe we’re 3 points from the playoffs with a game in hand.

Looking at March fixtures we’ll not be 2 points off play offs  after them.

Without checking the fixtures - they're not making us play away games as well as home one's I hope.

Or against L1 teams that try to defend, its just not fair.

Would you rather have Nathan Delfouneso or Clayton Donaldson?

We should throw them both in Jeff goldblums fly machine and mutate them in to one devil's anus of a striker.....

Clayton Delfounso

Were the chants continual from start to finish?

I'm curious as to what is considered acceptable in terms of "protest".

Waiting until after the final whistle when all the playing staff have left the pitch and the directors gone in from the cold, seems a bit anaemic.

Overall, I think IE has had a relatively easy ride, but hasn't helped himself of late.

Nor towards the end of last season.

He'll be headbutting fans next!

It was just in the final few minutes of the match

That's only true if the two clubs above us also drop points and we overcome a thirteen goal deficit

It'd take some doing

We are 9th, and if Mansfield get a point from their game in hand we're 10th, with virtually everyone around us having played 25.  10th is where we deserve to be currently, and our points total flatters us with those 3 games against 10 men and a couple of 95th minute winners.

Not sure how anyone is spinning this that we just have to win a game to be on track for the play offs!
