But could we ever forgive that bar steward for knobbling Holden and virtually writing off our FA Cup chances against Stoke without him? Not for me I’m afraid.

Yep, i was being a bit mischievous. Good player, and probably just what we need. But i'd imagine wages, his desire to maybe play Champ level, and a general feeling of 'no thanks' from the fans would leave that as a non starter.

Still baffles me that Holden only played 30 games for us. Seems so many more when i look back.

beginning of the end that

losing him, then Chungy, then Muamba

plenty of other factors got us relegated too, but with those 3 fit and performing, I don't think we go down that season

I'm sketchy on the timeline these days, but did we lose Sturridge and Wilshere at season end, then those 3 around Nov - Jan time following season? If so, that's half of a top 6 team ripped out in a 6 month period. No wonder Coyle loved table tennis - only thing they couldn't get injured doing!

Wilshere was the season before joining in Jan 2010 same time as Holden - Coyle was meant to take him to Burnley on loan, then we he joined us brought him to us (think he'd lined up Holden for Burnley too)

Sturridge joined Jan 2011 till the summer

Holden got injured Mar 2011

then lost the last 5 in a row that season after losing the semi

Chungy got injured preseason 2011/12

Muamba collapsed on the pitch in Feb-ish 2012 but wasn't being picked much by that time

relegated May 2012

think the other issue was the summer window of 2011 - Sturridge went back, we lost Elmander on a free who'd just had his best season, Chungy to injury, Matt Taylor, plus Holden still out

so when Coyle had to rebuild the decent squad he'd inherited

he brought in Pratley, Reo-Coker, Ngog, Mears and to a lesser extent Eagles and Petrov - then Ream and Sordell in Jan when we lost Cahill

shocking business that

Funny how the mind plays tricks with timelines.

Reo-Coker, Ngog and Mears. I'll be having nightmares tonight.

He's shite.

One-footed, avoids heading, hates the physical battles, doesn't track back.

Perfect then.

We beat Arsenal first game after the semi. And absolutely bummed West Ham immediately before the semi.

Sturridge papered over a hell of a lot of cracks in that period.

Bolton Wanderers are lining up a loan move for Chelsea goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe, sources have told FLW. The 22-year-old won League Two with Doncaster Rovers, who are also keen to renew his move for a second season! #BWFC #DRFC

It also totally pissed off Elmander who felt Sturridge was taking his place.

I saw at one match when Sturridge scored Elmander didn't celebrate or congratulate him. Blanked the whole moment.

Given that Elmander was letting his contract run down fck him.

So what's the story here, why have they got Bolton kits on?

Charity thing. Assume that was our contribution.
