I remember that day. Leeds had a tremendous team. We had won our first three games in (to put it mildly) unexpected style and I fully expected this to be when we finally found harsh realities of the Prem. In its way that 0-0 draw was as extraordinary as the previous three results.

We were the better team that day. Rio Ferdinand was absolutely imperious for them. Went to United a few weeks later.

Also seated behind the goals rather than the corner, or the side which was weird. Been to Elland Rd a few times and only once were we put behind the nets

Been a good ground for me, never seen us lose there

The highlight was the 4-2 win the following season

I think Ferdinands performance that day was one of the best defensive showings I have seen live .

Yes, I was there and it’s the first time I’d seen Rio Ferdinand in the flesh and he was immense! Without him I think we might have nicked that one as well.. great times 😎

Fuck Rio Ferdinand and Fuck Leeds this is the Stockport thread and we play them in a couple of hours so let’s stick to what WE are doing shall we? The starting eleven today will tell us everything about the way Schu is thinking and who he thinks can do it and who can’t. Those missing from the bench probably even more?

It’s a long old season, we will need everyone.

I'm not sure we can read too much into the starting line up today in terms of the rest of the season. For one, we're missing Dalby and Taylor who would probably be first choice striker and LB. Also we've just brought in players in Erhahon and Burstow who haven't played any friendlies so may not be plunged straight in but might be first teamers in a few weeks, plus we have players like Gale who are a few weeks behind on fitness. And finally we still have nearly 4 weeks to sign players.

I'm going today with

TSL

Cogley, Total, Johnston, Conway

Morley, Simons

ACD, McAtee, CMG

Burstow

Yep could be that. Randall or McAtee is a toss up , and possibly Gale for CMG.

Early Sunday kick off. Hoping McAtee stayed in last night!

I'm hoping Burstow makes a nuisance of himself today

It's been years since we've had a proper focal point up front

I'd take a 1-1

Be good to make a statement, but a draw wouldn’t be a disaster.

Signed up for Bein Sports for a month for this, I deserve a Zico 5-0 special.

Now it's getting closer to kick off I think my predicted 4-0 win might be a bit optimistic.

I'll go back to my original one.

3-0 win.

I'm certain it's a day for McAtee rather than Randell, and I think SS will also think the same

I also think he'll start Conway so there's a possibility he'll decide it'd be too much of a risk to play Gale in front as it'd mean we have two players on our left who have talent but positionally are works in progress

CMG might not offer a great deal of solidity in his place but he's more experienced and we're short of alternatives

I've only seen us at Leeds twice, Christmas 82 we were stood on a terrace on the side with that end to our left (Whatmore, 1-1).  December 97 we were seated behind the goal, all I remember about that game is Beardsley playing for us and Carlton Palmer for them.  Lost 2-0.
