Wigan North Western seems to be a fairly even split of Bolton and Everton fans

I’m getting the train to AFC Wimbledon from my local station (in North London) later on and found out yesterday that a school dad I know well will be on the same train - he’s an Everton fan going to Brighton.

Interesting to see how this looks on the pitch, 4231 or 523. And no Conway in the squad at all, must have a knock

Thats not a bad team and next week against Barnsley SS will also have Conway, Sheehan, Rodriquez and perhaps Hardie and another to add to the squad

Loads of young players who could not really cope with the rigours of a full season.  We did beat Wimbledon at home 2-0 on the opening day although my memory of that game was that they battered us in the first half and could not score.

How did we end up playing on both Good Friday and Easter Saturday? Awful end to the season until Sheff U came chanting "win or riot" and suddenly we decided to play well !!

Yes the likes of Steve Thompson, Neil Redfearn, Peter Valentine, Warren Joyce, Steve Saunders who all had good careers but were only about 18, and Tony Caldwell who was older but first season in league football.

I remember the Sheff U game, we won surprisingly, they must have had more there than us, about 3k of us.

Playing on consecutive days seemed to be a thing in those days, not every season, but previous year in Div 2 it was Carlisle home 27th Dec (1-0) and Leeds away 28th (1-1).  I went to both, didn't take a lot to Leeds.

I have absolutely no recollection of Steve Saunders

They are already targeting our right full back Osei tutu who scares me to death as a defender. Already made one error that could have been a goal
