For whatever reason, the  added time wasn't shown on the board or announced over the tannoy.

A possible can of worms if this practice gets replicated at grounds up & down the country.

Trust us to start a new dogshit trend.

Not the first time it's happened on a final game. My spider sense tells me it's to dissuade fans from getting themselves ready to run on the pitch

If we'd been at home 2nd leg it would have been 8pm KO on a school night, surely 8pm on a Saturday is a whole lot better.  Try keeping my 7 year old grandson away from a play off game.

I quite like the idea that we still get to play under lights in our home leg, and I can still do stuff the rest of the day instead of spending the whole morning just in a state of pre-match build up 😀

You'll now spend all morning, afternoon and early evening in a state of pre-match build up 😀

So the referee could play as much time as he wanted so nobody was aware of the time. Read somewhere the referee was changed. Before the match. ,anybody heard that?

Foolish to not announce the added time, especially on a game where there was almost zero chance of a pitch invasion.

Are we going to do the same next Saturday? Where there is equally zero chance of a pitch invasion, and ruin any boost to support by there being 6/7 minutes if we need it.

Madness.

The added time board going up motivates players and fans alike.

Today showing the added time wouldn't have made a difference to the overall outcome, but i would hate to see it become the norm.

Their shithousery at the end was poor though. I'd have had the sprinklers in no time.

The entire stadium had just been singing to them about Stevenage and we even stuck the score on the big screen for no other reason than shithousery. Funny, but will look pretty tinpot if Stevenage win the playoffs.

If you give it you have to take it. If we'd been in that situation I'd want us to still be out there now.

Not sure why two teams can't occupy the same pitch anyway. They do at the end of literally every other game.

A lot of praise for Luton, I thought they were surprisingly poor after a bright start.  Coughed up possession in their own half countless times, I know we do that too, but nowhere near as much as they did.

They were quite bright going forward in the 1st half granted but their main threat was their corners, (thanks to SS's defensive set up giving them all the room they wanted at the back post).

2nd half I couldn't believe my eyes that they needed to win and showed zero intention of going for it.  Not one attack before they got a corner after 60 minutes and scored thanks to us.  Then we could have had about 5 and they still hardly attacked.  One attack and we let them score.

Their defending was awful all day and it was just our poor finishing that stopped us getting a hatful, they were nowhere near the levels of Huddersfield, Stockport or Wycombe in recent home games.

I'd agree with all that. They were a bit unlucky to be behind at half-time given they hit the post three times and forced a point blank save from Bonham.

Second half they looked knackered and totally out of ideas. Which is exactly how Bradford looked last week until we did the hard work for them.

Still, they look set up to be a dangerous side next season with a bit of momentum behind them.

So it wasn’t announced to stop a pitch invasion who ever agreed to that needs identifying? Who was it .?

Tbf the fourth official will have communicated it to both benches so the players will have been aware of how long was left

Agreed on all counts.

Sprinklers would have been funny though.

It kills the end of the game for the fans if that becomes regular practice.

It shiuld be against the rules to not put the board up.

Got to agree with this it stinks

I thought it was all a bit over the top, the measures to prevent a pitch invasion, unless they thought theirs might get carried away if they won and it all fell right for them

Folk were pissing off in droves in our parts of the ground with 5 mins still to go.

There must have only been about 5 thousand fans on by the time our players got to do their 'lap of honour'

Who’d be invading the pitch after that shitshow?

I fucked off as soon as that old twat of a ref had put the whistle to his lips?

Stay for a lap of honour? Fuck off

I stayed. Wish I hadn't. Could barely see the players amidst all the infants and friends and family and hangers on. Totally pointless

If they aren't sure whether its 5 minutes or 7 minutes, can they not get themselves ready to go on the pitch?

Or maybe they never wanted to go on the pitch in the first place and everyone's wondering why on earth the club were thinking they might.  The announcements from tannoy man were embarrassing, talk about not reading the room.

Even the players looked embarrassed by having to do it after playing a game where we've just massively  shot ourselves in the foot.

The club will probably be patting themselves on the back though because there wasn't a pitch invasion, thinking this is what they need to do every year on the final game. Instead of realising that when the last game is meaningless it won't happen and when the last game has some real significance it will, and all the annoying tannoy announcements and removal of injury time won't make a difference
