New Year's day 1979 I think. More snow fell that day than we had yesterday. It started snowing at about 11am. The only reason it started was because there was such a big crowd. Northender
Crewe was on Grand National day, seem to remember most of the Bolton fans in a pub near the ground watching it then buggering off home when it was over.

Site Supporter MickyD Posted January 7, 2010 Site Supporter Share Posted January 7, 2010 villa  Set off for this one. I'd have been 16 or 17 so guessing 78/79. Heard on the radio that it was off so our car full went to Oldham instead. can't recall who the away team was but we decided to shout for them. It didn't appear to go down too well with the locals! H
I once came up from Caerphilly on a Cardiff City supporters club coach to be told the game was off on arrival at Burnden. Miserable bastard coach driver turned straight round and took us back. Â Anfield was another cancellation when I'd come up with the LFC supporters club from Bristol. This was a late cancellation and the driver didn't find us until after 3 so at least we'd had a wet before going home.

Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion
Hereford 1976. We ended up in the pub for 2 hours drinking our first scrumpy as 16 year olds. The Ribble coach on the way back ran with rivers of piss.
Northern Dancer
Hereford 1976. We ended up in the pub for 2 hours drinking our first scrumpy as 16 year olds. The Ribble coach on the way back ran with rivers of piss. Â Ribble Rable! Ribble Rable! Oi! Oi! Oi! Â Always went with Ribble Travel back then until one away match down at Orient the driver refused to let a lad on the coach. Poor kid was only about 14 or 15 and had to make his own way home. Can't remember why he wouldn't let him on? however all the way back home the rest of the coach just sang the usual "the driver is a twat" . Decided to make alternative travel arrangements after that. Â Oh yea just remembered also away at Oldham one boxing day Fucking ribble didn't come and pick us up after the match. Managed to get a bus back home. bwfcol
Crewe for me, Stockport FA Cup tie as well, was then played midweek, Ricketts scored and they were perhaps one of the worst teams I've ever seen  A different category: Games you missed because of london traffic? leigh white
That Oldham game what was postponed was a bit tasty, caught the Trans Lancs from Moor Lane and hit Oldham early, mobs of lads kicking off in the town. Walked to a pub on Rochdale Rd packed with Wanderers. Police eventually told us to get back to Bolton.
