Frank Costanza Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 As a copy of 300 it certainly was. Quote
Boothy Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Are we saying Franky boy's pants are on fire? Â Yes indeedy. (At least i think) Â No.1 - Even if he was chargehand for receipt of print/discs a week in advance of the screening, there are strict guidelines from the industry as to when they can be opened and are date sealed. Â No.2 - There was no release from piracy groups of a CAM release of this film. That in itself isn't strange, due to point 1. But he's saying that his mate whose a projectionist has received a copy (in advance of more than one week), opened it, screen tested it and recorded a CAM of the film. He has then privately shared this with his buddy. If there was a way of recording a CAM or Telecine of this release, you would think that someone else somewhere in the world also received the same print with the same advance and worked with groups that release. Â No.3 - Would anyone be daft enough to suggest their mate who is a projectionist at a local cinema is actively involved in piracy theft on pre-release films? There are 2 maybe 3 projectionists in a large cinema. I'd estimate about 10 cinemas local(ish) so thats what 30 suspects max who are liable for a stretch of inside? Quote
Frank Costanza Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 1 - I took delivery and handed over to the projectionist, that was my teenage involvement 2 - I have no response to that 3 - He deserves what he gets Quote
barryk32 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) It seems I made a fatal error in copying and pasting mongalongs spelling. Â However THIS still shows he is full of shit. Â Earliest release was a cam on the 12th. A day or two after world release. Thats normal. Â If your mate can get these films a fortnight before the rest of the world he would be in contact directly with the scene groups and Russian gangsters and making an absolute mint. Â Not having private screenings for his mates. Edited November 17, 2011 by barryk32 Quote

barryk32 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) Been watching the festive comedy DVD's. Â None have really been as good as I was expecting. Â Russell Howard, Peter Kay, Jason Manford - All average, passes the time with a few laughs. Â Jimmy Carr - I'm a massive fan, I thought he was brilliant as usual, but nothing really new. Â Russell Brand - Nowhere near as good as last years, very poor really. Â Stephen Merchant - May be his standup debut but for anyone who has listened to the podcasts its old material. If you haven't heard the podcasts then aye, its funny. Â Russell Kane - Turned it off after 15 minutes, fucking awful. Â Neil Delamere - The bloke with the puppets 'I kill you'. I just dont get it. Again lasted about 15 minutes before getting turned off. Â However... Â Amongst all that mediocrity and crap, there is a standout performance, and one I didn't hold much hope for. Â Greg Davies, Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog - If you have never heard of him, he is the mental teacher from The Inbetweeners. I was in proper tears of laughter 3 or 4 times. Brilliant. Spider Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I'm not taking sides as I know fuck all about the ins and outs  What I don't understand is why people still act like fucking 7 year olds when they claim to have seen a film 39 minutes sooner than anyone else?  Why bust a gut to watch a film with the back of someone's head in the shot?  I really don't get it at all.  Actually, I'll take sides - Frank seems to be making a tool of hisself. Big City Girl Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Went to the pictures last night for the first time in about 10 years, saw The Rum Diaries. Ignore the critics, it was really good. I have to admit my enjoyment was enhanced by the fact that there were only 10 other people in the room, and none of them were kicking the back of my seat, eating crisps or mauling with their phones. Big City Girl Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 i thought it had got good reviews just no fucker had been to watch it. Â It might have, but the two times I heard it mentioned, it was panned by the critics. That never bothers me, if I want to watch a film, I do, regardless of what Crispin and Natasha say. In fact, most of my favourite films had bad ratings. Or maybe I just like shit films Quote
