Zico Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Brighton Rock - am sure this was meant to be good, but thought the remade plot was half arsed, 2.5/5 The Count Of Monte Cristo - the one with Guy Pearce - 4/5 - good old revenge tale, well worth a watch, more so if you don't know the story Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Watched Limitless last night, bloke from the new A Team & The Hangover. Not bad, bit of a far-fetched plot but still worth a watch. Henrys Crime with Keanu Reeves plays his usual wooden self, save yourself an hour and half and don?t bother its complete dog shit. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Forest Gump- tremendous- got a book of 'Gumpisms' somewhere. Watched Fahrenheit 9/11 last night. Not strictly a 'film' but nevertheless very thought provoking. Always tried not to jump on the anti-Bush bandwagon, but I'mcertainly on board now Quote
Didledee Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) I like films like Hostel and Saw. Thought Hostel 1 and 2 were great, watched the third one, which was a straight to video one and it's shite, plenty of women in lingerie and side boob and ass shots but the gore wasn't really there.
The most was a guys arm being cut off with an axe, but the majority of stuff was not shown, like you knew the skin of a mans face was being cut off, but it just showed the back off the guy who was cutting him, and like when a guy gets some kinda lawnmower on him, all you see is the camera cut to blood splattering on the wall.

It's about gambling on how a person will die in a room whilst you sit with loads of others who have the same tattoo, whilst being served drinks by a nearly naked woman.
Johnny English reborn is crap too, though there were a few funny parts. Danny G Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Just about to watch. No country for old men not sure why i have not seen it yet as this is my sort of film Quote
barryk32 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I've been absent from here for a while as I've been watching Curb Your Enthusiasm (from start to finish) which was brilliant, proper brilliant. Anyroad, back on track last night with In Time and The Thing (new one) I really Enjoyed In Time, I've said before I like anything original and this was original. Good idea and well executed. Definitely recommended. The Thing was classic 80's horror with up to date effects, cant say anymore than that really. If you liked the original, you'll like the new one. Quote
