Maggie Tate Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 going through a black and white phase at the minute The finest black and white films of recent years is The White Ribbon. A must-see. I cannot recommend it highly enough. An absolute breath of fresh air to have something so simple be so utterly brilliant. An absolute fucking masterpiece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KJKvvvxY74 Quote

Boothy Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 So did he not actually kill all them people? Went reet over my head. It's deliberately left for the viewer to decide. My personal take is that he didn't, his schizophrenia allows him to be deluded to the fact. Quote
Frank Costanza Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 It's deliberately left for the viewer to decide. My personal take is that he didn't, his schizophrenia allows him to be deluded to the fact. Seeing as Bret Easton Ellis has written about six books all with the same 'did that happen' twist, I'm betting it didn't. Quote
ZiggyStardust Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Go and see Moneyball, you can see why Allardyce was in love with Billy Beane. Read the book a few years ago (and recommended it to people as their summer reading). All the time I couldn't get out of my head the similarities in the way that Beane & Allardyce ran their clubs, with similar results. Not too sure how they have managed to make a movie out of a book that was written by a financial advisor, and specifically dealt with the finances of Baseball, with the characters almost an afterthought.
