cheers,so i vote Ukip does that make me a racist in your eyes?

I don't know you well enough to decide if you're a racist or not.

But other than a spurious immigration policy, what else were UKIP going to do for you?

And knowing they were never going to win many seats, do you now think you wasted your vote?

I reckon it should be that ex-para.

All Leythers are harder than all Paras though. Even Burnham. Well if after that result they elect another leftist as their leader then they deserve everything they get in 2020 as well.

The loons on the Guardian comments are talking about Chuka Umunna to give them the  "Obama" effect, some are even suggesting Diane Abbott who they believe "truly represents labour core values"  :D

Here's a thought for Ed to ponder on now he's going to have more time for it: New Labour had to move to the centre ground and adopt conservative policies to get themselves elected. There hasn't been a true socialist Labour government since the 1970's.

Right so what's the betting. Labour has enough sense to elect a leader from the centre, Chuka wotsit maybe. Then the leftist unions defect and set up their own Syriza type thing.

Shares and the pound up! Jolly good.

Meanwhile disappointment in the local elections. The pigs with red rosettes get to carry on ruining the town.

What Htown needs is independence from the ghettos in BL.

I also feel for the lib dems & Nick Clegg

They did the right thing for the country joining a coalition

A girl I know in Solihull (previously lib dem but swung to tory) said yesterday she has voted Tory as she wants things to stay steady as it is. I reminded her that she has a lib dem MP and a Tory government on its own would in fact be a change from the current coalition, she hadn't thought of it of it like that.

I think that's happened a lot with the liberal swing to the Tories, too many thought that a vote for the liberals was a vote for more of the same when in fact it's not. It's going to be very different with the first Tory government in 20 years.

Same for me. Won the national battle but we lost the local one as Stretford & Urmston is still red.

However, Flixton is still very much white.

Chuku is on the tele more than Ed Miliband, they've been bumraped, the idea they can win back their historic support with him is fucking laughable.

Andy Burnham is a political dinosaur, they may as well resurrect Derek Hatton.

Gordon Brown shifted the Labour party from the Blairite right to more traditional Labour ground. That's the problem for a few of us on here.
