Sweep Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) That does not mean we can't do loan deals.  Even so, I don't see just because we've got a few quid (which I presume will be used to pay staff and players for a few more weeks) that we'll be wanting to spend money on a loan fee and wages - and the wages you would imagine will be upwards of £10K per week for the sort of player that we might want/need Edited January 15, 2016 by Sweep Quote
Wullie Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 If we are still trying to get Monday's decision delayed etc, would kind of look bad if we started to bring any players in when we are claiming to have no money to pay the tax man.....just an opinion Quote
cbwfcd Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I remember reading somewhere you can loan players in but not if there is a fee involved? Which may rule out a lot of options for us bringing people in. Quote
Pablo Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Im not sure clubs would to send young lads to Bolton, with the current situation. Quote
Sweep Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Im not sure clubs would to send young lads to Bolton, with the current situation.  I agree, nobody is going to send one of their prospects here as things stand  -  if the situation is resolved, then come on down, I'm sure well be alright, but you would be nuts to send players out to a club that could be wound up in the next few weeks Quote
Zico Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Think Mavies might be off to Fulham on loan. How Fulham get round the FFP it's a joke! I also wouldn't play Mavies tomorrow.  the conspiracy theory goes that Fulham been after him all summer (I don't recall this, but never mind that), and Davies wants to go  so his agent does all this wage demand shizzle with Sheff Weds to get bolton to agree to a free transfer, so that Fulham can nip in  the lad who informed me of this also said his mate once delivered pizza to MD's house, and when he answered and paid, instead of tipping him, he said "you can tell people you know me if you want"  other MD anecdotes include:  few years back when in the PL, he asked the club to sort him out with a 5 bedroom house, because he'd "always wanted to own a 5 bedroom house", so they did, he moved in, and within a week realised it was too big and he didn't need 5 bedrooms, so moved out and asked Bolton to sell it for him  another one goes something like when taking parcetamol or similar, he puts the tablets in bread Quote

Boo Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I see Cardiff are now under FFP embargo, wonder if this had owt to do with Vela not going. Quote
Horwich Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Could the FA not do something to say that all contracts reduce by 50% if clubs are relegated from prem? Cardiff will be the next us. Quote

Youri McAnespie Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I heard Sparky went to see Jack and The Beanstalk at The Macron and approached one of the cast members afterwards, to enquire if he could buy any leftover magic beans when the run had finished. Perhaps the medo business was also being sorted Can't see Ed being that arsed about blocking outgoing transfers tbh. IMO we are possibly close to a miraculous takeover and our potential new owners have maybe stipulated to Ed, that they don't yet want the club to sell Clough & Vela. That's my hunch anyway. Quote

Fat Sam Def had clauses such as that in our early pl days  Don't think oc bothered  Hence Tyrone mears sat on his arse on something like 20k for 2 years in championship Quote

It would, or should,be a requirement from the board. However, agents would always look to amend such clauses and maybe suggest their charges could not accept same. Either say no to a 'star' or increase the chance of relegation happening by not signing him. Quote
