Best of all are the screeching snowflakes on Twitter sending messages to Trump asking him to do the same here.

I mean, Starmer isn’t perfect but would we really want an American peadophile looking after our kids and the NHS?

(it’s ok Bolty, I know you would, this is a question for those on here with an IQ higher than a trifle)

Didn’t he also say that the US oil companies would be compensated for the oil that has already stolen from them? So it’s not just reimbursing future spend, they will also be able to keep whatever Trump decides they should have previously had.

It’s pretty much a case of the US controlling the country until he finds someone who will become president and agree to sign whatever deal Trump draws up re US control of the oil fields.

Much like how he threatened to withdraw US support in Ukraine unless they signed a deal he drew up about selling mineral rights to the US.

He’s probably drafting the Greenland agreement at the moment.

Yeah but

 Whatabout Iraq ?

A bit of reality

I'd be a bit sceptical gauging Venezuelans' reactions based on random twitter accounts. That clip looks like some kind of procession (going through the middle, left to right) - any reason to believe it's not an old clip?

It's protest footage from 2024.

Some sites are posting as new some as old.

Here’s some more reputable sources for you.

Venezuelans who've left Venezuela are happy ... think we'd all assume that'd be the case. Getting away from the regime (and / or conditions under the regime) is the biggest motivation for folk who've left in the last decade or two.

You posted a video of celebrations in Venezuela - supposedly current - and literally said "a bit of reality".

Whereas, in reality, it might not be a bit of reality.

I watched Francis Foster being interviewed earlier.

Born to a Venezuelan mother, and partially raised there, with Spanish as his first language.

He obviously has many contacts there.

He was saying the streets are largely empty, and there is a sense of unease as the people don't know what is happening.

They're still scared of Maduro's death squads that did his dirty work still looking out for anyone celebrating.

I think the celebrations are more obvious amongst the Venezuelan diaspora.

There isn’t very far you can get defending Trump on this one.

Seems someone has hit a bit of a brick wall

You can’t rely on Sky News, kept in check by Ofcom etc. You need to rely on Sovey, from X.

 Fucking hell. The American version of Michael Foot.

Jeremy Corbyn is/was a man of conviction according to Kent. What happened to him?

Bernie is just over excited after his commie leftie mate got in in New York. Let's see how long that lasts.

You don't think Jeremy Corbyn is a man of conviction? If not, then I'm not sure you properly understand the definition.

How would you define one?

Just a quick reminder

It’s entirely about the oil.

Youre welcome.

See I'm not sure it is entirely.

I think it's about shifting people's attention away from his failure to find a solution in Ukraine.

The oil and the money is just a welcome bonus to drag the kind of people you need to drag along and be complicit on this.

I don't think he's very far from washing his hands on Ukraine now. His language in that press conference 'this is Joe Biden's war' 'I inherited this war' etc and so on and so forth.

It's probably more about the Epstein files. There's still shit loads to be released.

See I still don't think there will be anything significant about Trump in them or I think we'd have heard about it years ago under the Dems.

I think that's a smokescreen for failure too.

I could be completely wrong if course.

Agreed on Ukraine. His interested been half-arsed at best, largely due to the hold Putin has on him. Wouldn’t surprise me tbh if this has been part of the back office dialogue for years - “we’ll take Venezuela and you take Ukraine and we’re both happy”.

I know what you mean. But I imagine (given the kind of polarising figure he is) that something would have been leaked by a political enemy somehow?

See I think he's been interested. I just don't think he's very talented unless he can bully folk.

And I hate bullies.
