There are times when I think ANewman might be right for the job!

No match this weekend so a race up Rivi is in order.

I saw Deano picking up some Karrimor rucksacks from sports direct earlier, I bet he was off to Travis Perkins straight after.

The annual Fell Race starts at 3pm on Easter Saturday from The Crown.

Any BWFC player who is not beaten by an older woman should qualify for a prize.

There won't be (m)any.

The only beating I will be doing is to the bloody cyclists who've already started drawing on the roads round here for Sunday's race. Runners are all most welcome. They're a much better class of keep fitter.

I ran my last race in 1994. It was the last leg of the Insurance AA Medley Relay. We finished third, and I got a medal. That's what I call going out at the top. And we did win the overall men's trophy with a four man team, whereas Norwich Union had a coachload.

I'm writing to Norris McWhirter.

That has to be the longest "no" ever recorded.

Edit: robot legs were more advanced in 1994 than I imagined

I met Norris and his identical twin on business in 1969.

It was scary. One would start a sentence, and when he paused his brother would continue on the same thought.

That must've been hard work for Norris then when their Ross was killed. Then again, if he had a wife he'd still not be able to finish a sentence.

P.S. Just to lower the tone, I wonder if his wife was a 'Norris McWhirter' :)

I seem to recall he had one of those ESP moments when Ross was shot.

His first wife died in 1990, then he married his secretary. I don't know if either fits the bill.

Needless to say, I had the last laugh.

Just listening to Phil Brown on 5 Live.

Says its nice to be linked with the job as he must be doing something right.

And wait and see what happens when this season is over.

I'd be amazed if Phil Brown isn't our next manager.

Same. I thought the only bloke he wasn't mates with was Ken Anderson, but it turns out his even good pals with him

I'm not so sure why did he sign a new 3 year contract with Southend?

He signed that contract at the start of the season, he wouldn't have been aware of possible interest from Bolton then - we all know contracts mean nothing anyway, if he wants out and we want him, it'll happen. There will of course be some compensation to Southend, but if we want him we'll have to cough up, which is fair enough.

Then he will want his backroom staff to come with him, do we have enough twixes to pay for them?
