Rich fuckers in wanting to be richer fuckers shocker.

Is this news?

Fuck me.

No, obviously it's totally irrelevant to anyone and everything. The equivalent of David Beckham eating a sandwich. That's why the Icelandic Prime Minister resigned, and the UK Government are releasing statements to distance the PM from it all, and a multitude of other prominent figures/businesses/organisations have leapt into denial/damage control mode. Wonder why they're all making such a fuss over nothing?

I think you missed the 'same old, same old' sense of weary cynicism in my post.

Does this mean a potential surge in house prices just south of the border?

It is already happening. Relatively well off people have been drifting into England, but not necessarily just over the Border, for over a year. The variation in tax rates and bands may or may not lead to change, but it's a fair bet in which direction any change north of the border will be.

I am intrigued by the fact that some Scottish addresses have Carlisle postcodes, equally some English addresses have Galashiels postcodes.

If the fifth digit of your NI Number is 0,1,2,or 3 then you have.

The fifth digit of my NI no is 1 and

my tax code has been reduced in line with my annual gross state pension.

as quoted by the DWP to HMRC.

But they only quote for 52 weeks.

Last year there were 53 Mondays and Tuesdays in the tax year.

I expect you are paid 4-weekly, so only received 52 weeks' payments (or possibly 56), but HMRC tax on weekly due dates (in your case Monday).

In the year I retired I received 26 weeks' payments, but was taxed on 27, even though the last week's payment ws not actually made until the next tax-year.

Since HMRC and DWP both use NINo for reference purposes it is easy for DWP to identify which NINos, if any, have 53 paydays in a given tax-year.

There's about 1.5million people in the UK avoiding tax by sitting on their bone fucking idle arses.

And the tax they are avoiding would be peanuts compared to the tax being avoided by a few hundred pillars of society.

Obviously it was an exaggerated comment you senile shitty Italian leather shoed immigrant.

No balls... h town

Carlos... Bolton

Smiffs ... Leigh

Smiley ...Manchester somewhere

Frank spencer ... bury I think

You keep pushing the 'non-Bolton' aspect matey - inculcation of a few is always possible.

It's not just what they don't pay, it's what they cost in benefits, police overtime, court time, prison spaces, insurance premiums, housing costs, wasted NHS time and so on. At least the rich hiding their money doesn't cost anything, whereas the welfare lobby spends about a third of GDP.

I've looked at this a few times and all the data that I can see points the other way

If you got to the table (I've tried to attach it, not sure if it will show up) it has legal tax avoidance schemes costing the state £5b whilst unrecorded sales (illegal cash in hand tax evasion) costing over £50b

I guess it's just the scale of millions upon millions of people thinking that doing a deal for cash to cut out the VAT man is acceptable also the millions of cash in hand businesses declaring half of what they take etc etc

Compared against a few tens of thousands with an off shore scheme, don't forget either if it wasn't for the off shore schemes many of those rich people using them would likely just emigrate anyway avoiding paying tax all together

Fower = Bolton

Four = Not Bolton

:D

'Fower', to me, means 'more ugly'.

For example, "I wouldn't give her one, she's as fow as a gas cinder and her mate's even fower'.

Maybe those Boltonians you know who say 'fower' for 'four' have spent too long is that rancid cesspit you live in?

Every boltonian I know says fower. You've been sniffing petrol with your abbo mates too long sonny.

Rancid cesspit by the way?? Haha come round for tea one night.

Geography obviously isn't your strongpoint.

In all fairness to the Orange one Bolty, Bolton folk do say "fower" instead of "four"

I do also get your reference to a bird being "fow" (I've not heard that for ages)

The "Bolton" dialect has changed so much even since I was a kid. I remember when I was a kid people would say "Bowton"....you would never hear anybody, apart from old duffers, say that now. They would say "Bowlton"

I'm intrigued, how do these figures come about. Illegal deals costing 50bn?? 50bn unpaid tax means 250bn of illegal deals, maybe more. Divide that by the population and it's a hell of a lot!

Of course it goes on, but I can't believe that much.

More over, if these giant corporations etc paid their dues, then the tax rates could be lowered for the benefit of everyone.

They can be no more than guesstimates.

It's one thing to claim the amount for a recent year, but several years into the future is clearly contingent on unknown unknowns.
