RoadRunnerFan
In the classics section but thought it deserved a mention in the main thread. My first away, sneaked there with a mate from school on the bus and missed our first goal. SJM and the throw in, Simon Coleman, Big Bad John Gayle (BOO), great day. Widnes Two Hats
Is this the year we played them 2 Saturdays running, once in the league and once in the FA cup, if so, they were quite an eye opener, those cobbled streets were like something normally only observed on a battlefield

Underpants
no, those games were mid winter and probably 6 or 7 years earlier November. Small attendance considering. 10k+ for the cup; and a week later for the league game there was 3k less.

Went on the train for that Cup game, marched straight off train and into ground for about 12.30! Kicking off all over the place, look back now and think 10,000 that's nowt but it was like World War 3! Very lively escort back to the station. Site Supporter Spider Posted October 9, 2016 Site Supporter Share Posted October 9, 2016 This was the first and only time I went to a football match and had opposition fans throwing fresh horseshit at us. I know we always say other fans are inbred/6 fingered/incestuous, but burnley are genuinely not wired up right. Mate of mine worked in a pub there for a while, always tells us about the time a burnley home match was called off - the fans in the pub cheered like maniacs when the pools panel declared it a home win. Was about 14 and the only time I've been frontally gobbed on at a football match. Dirty fcukers, and I've clearly led a sheltered existence! . . . 9 Men There's some sort of twighlight zone, Lancs/Yorks, Bermuda triangle of weirdness that permeates that whole region. Was walking with my missus around N. Burnley/S.Bowland a few years ago and we came across a barb wire fence with about 50 headless moles tied to it. Some were clearly 'fresher' than others A farm was about a 1/2 mile away with a shit load of old rusting tractors, trucks, cars etc in the adjacent fields. Was genuinely relived to get back to the car that day!

Two goldfish and gerbal took on the suicide squad and nailed the cunts. The lemmings swapped sides mind and got reprisals later on.
leigh white
Went the "we only need nine men" match, took my young lad in the Burnley Miners Club before the game and necked a few Bennies, stood behind the goal and both of us danced like loons when we scored the equalizer much to the disgust of the dingles around us. Thank god somebody remembers Bolton's main mob being marched straight into the ground by 12-30..........must have been 200 or so lads, and I maintain to this day along with the gospel from good Burnley lads I know, those fuckers took full advantage of that situation and picked off random stragglers all over Burnely before the match. The week later, those inbred lot weren't so keen when we marched round to their end just before kick off....they shit theirselves... Same, five or six months later, when the Bradford Arms was trashed.........the older lot may remember Norman "Knuckles" from Burnley......he was done for murder in The States.............He's on record many times saying when Bolton came to town, he didn't turn out.... The 94/95 match....is that we all stopped in Blackburn on the way home ? I seem to remember bouncers from a certain "place" getting legged down the stairs and onto the streets..... Aye....before the cup game, the Burnley mob burst into a pub which had a transit full of a Deane landlord & his mates in it, & they burst out again pretty quick & decided to look for much easier targets. The week later, after the match as well, Bolton marched through the town centre & the locals were nowhere to be seen.

Probably 20 of us at the most but Burnley as you rightly say fired off without even throwing a punch, but the cowardly shithouses did smash the van up parked outside. I was a mate of Eddie's, very rarely see him now, & the way i heard it, was that he was more than happy to take any of them on & with all the rest being very capable of fighting back, the Burnley lot didn't fancy it. Mounts Kipper
What was the bar upstairs in the precinct we used to frequent from early doors? Probably about 80 Burnley and 20 of us. Burnley certainly bottled it in that boozer. Like I said earlier, the spineless banjo playing fuckers decided to trash our van instead. Is Eddie, Eddie C ?....top bloke, I remember when he picked me up off the floor of the Balmoral doorway when a 30st Celtic bastard threw me into it before Jimmy Phillips's testimonial...haha.
