FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Does seem a strange signing to me, throughout the summer we've heard about how getting in loans will allow us to get in signings beyond our means, and i don't mean to pre judge but i can't see how this guy is beyond our means. He has only played in the French Ligue 2 which is equivalent to League 1, and he didn't exactly set the world alight there. The Championship is such a massive step up, we need to really be signing improvements if they're going to start. Worried about this one.

Could be one for the future, possible our new European scout has seen or heard good things about him.

James Trafford? 😁

My guess would be Beadle, Brighton are stacked with keepers, he must be third choice there. 22 next week and already played 92 games at Championship level. He's not getting a first team start in the Prem yet and too young to sit on a bench.

Presume he's had a lot of good games but his performance for Brum v Boro was one of the worst I've seen from a keeper 😄 It just stuck in my mind, I felt sorry for him, the Brum fans were booing him because his kicking/passing to Boro players was like that Bonham calamity but several times.

One for the future doesn’t help us if he is on loan and goes back

We might already have four signed up but there's no way Broome, Hutch, and probably also Harrington are playing many, if any, minutes in our first-team this season

Why sign them then, and why add a fifth wage?

Again, not averse to signing a goalie. Sort out the others first.

Gale won't stand a chance in the Championship.

There were moments of quality last season but also many moments of pure FRUSTRATION with him. He's very hot and cold.

One thing I will say is he's had a whole season under him, only 24 and will have learnt a great deal no doubt.

I'm really interested in seeing how he does in the Championship. Unlike previous seasons, we are going to find ourselves on the back foot.

But also have space we never had before. Gale with his ridiculous speed on the counter against possession heavy Championship sides could be incredibly useful and exciting.

Unless gale has improved ten fold then he won't even get on the pitch in the championship. One of the signings that just didn't work.

Because we need a better goalkeeper and can move the others on

Keeper on loan is the right way to go until Harrington is ready

Keep bonham for the bench and loan the rest out

I really can’t understand the stance of some against Bonham. His start was shaky but then he hadn’t played much at Stoke and his aerial control didn’t look the best but as the season went on he grew in stature for me and his performances in the play offs were terrific and we’d still be in L1 if it wasn’t for some of his saves. He’d definitely start the season for me and I’d be looking to spend whatever little money we do have on other areas.

Bonham is a great shot stopper! But there is much more to being a goalie then that and his overall game is lacking in key areas, such as dominating his area, dealing with crosses and dodgy distribution (at times)..

He was all over the show v Luton.

We have an option to buy on him so if he’s a success it’s worth us having a good luck at him.

Youve obviously forgotten his fuck up at Bradford in the league that cost us 2 points and 3rd place?

Not forgetting Blackpool.

Bloke gives me the Willies.

Fine, I’m in the minority but I still believe Schuey will stick with Jack if he performs well in pre-season. If not then he’ll look at alternatives I’m sure.

Not disputing that, but Pickford's the same for England (and Everton), a cock up is just waiting to happen.

Most GKs are the same, Trafford certainly was if we're talking about playing on the deck and general command of the box/physicality being poor.

Taking Beadle as an example, he looks like he's from the same stable - can save shots, a cock up is just around the corner, not commanding.

Swap keeper, and repeat.

Although we managed to sign one last year that was all of the above except he also didn't save any 😁

he cancelled that out at Bradford in the play offs that kept us at 0-0 for the duration till we scored

neither here nor there, if we bring in someone better with more experience, fine

if he plays, we have strengthened those in front of him which will help

he has a chance to work on his game playing every week

All part of Bonham's master plan. When he was rooted to his line and we lost at Port Vale, it was a bit annoying at the time, but just another step in the right direction for him getting to play at Wembley and finish the season with cup 😀

Maybe his calamitous time at Stoke was all part of the master plan.

Everything happens for a reason ha

He might have been Stokes third choice keeper but he became our number one keeper.

Will he still be number keeper, well if the gossip is true, he won't, some new lad is coming in on loan apparently.

Why are we bringing in this keeper on loan while we have four other keepers - well obviously because in the clubs opinion we need a better one.

I don't really understand why people seem to be getting all het up about all this - four existing keepers or 40 of them, the bottom line is we need a better one, why on loan, obviously because it is the best the club can achieve in the circumstances we find ourselves in (need a load of players / apparently not a lot of money to achieve that with).

Christ people moan about how long my posts are but if you add together all the posts people have written on the goalkeeper situation then it will be far lengthier than any post I've ever written.
