Maybe that U21s tournament was the worst thing that could have happened for them - it might have sparked interest from some bigger fish.

With Burnley having a limited budget compared to their rivals and having to replace last season's loanees like Telle, £15m plus seems like a huge chunk of their transfer pot for a goalie. I suspect that they may have reconsidered their initial offer - but maybe they'll find a way to make it work given Kompany's relationship with City.

Double agent Kompany been bubbled helping City FFP with that stupid fee he aint worth 5 million, binned off by accy did great for us and but not played above league 1 level. the fee is in the top 20 fees for a keep worldwide. No wonder Burnley backing off.

Can understand any interest in Trafford, but Burnley have already signed Leyton Orient’s no. 1 and have Muric who was almost an ever present last season, some kid they signed from PSG last summer and Peacock-Farrell.

I'm far from obsessed with him but I do think he's a good player. Always had a bit of quality about him, even when he played for us as a kid - and I thought Celtic stole him for £350k even though he was a lightweight back then - but in the intervening years he's put a bit of muscle on and added some steel to his game so I reckon he'd definitely be a good addition to our midfield. No way it will happen though. Barnsley will want fancy money and I'm hoping Evatt et al can find someone better anyway.

I guarantee we will find better, in fact think he’s no better than what we already have. 

I was hoping we’d pick up Steve Smith from Cambridge but I see he’s now gone to Reading. Shame that I think he’d have been good for us. Now I have no idea who Evatt’s targeting, there doesn’t even seem to be any rumours about who our targets are so cards are clearly being held close to chests. I hope when the signings do come they’re worth waiting for the suspense is killing.

I'd love us to get Billy Sharp. He'd be perfect replacing Dion in the 65th minute and would get us plenty of goals

Would he thought Dave? He’s a Sheffield man at heart and I just don’t see him busting a gut at his age anywhere else. Super John never did when he left because his heart was always still here and I just feel Sharp might be the same. Interesting thought though all the same.
