woolli
anyone really know anything about him? Lets just hope he proves to be better then our last Burton signing! He deffo as potential, but is that good enough to get us out of this friggin league? Yes, only young, but only played 24 league games in total in his career. He gets a chance tho like anyone else who comes to the club. Edited July 20, 2023 by woolli more info

Mantra
“Ashworth – the son of current Newcastle United Sporting Director and former FA Director of Elite Development Dan Ashworth – trained with Wanderers for the first time on Thursday ahead of the Whites’ final three pre-season games.“ another interesting bite from the article, maybe wishful thinking but put a word in with pops for some young Newcastle lads. Think Dan Ashworth was also poached from Brighton who have had massive success with their scouting. Obviously not signing him for reasons of nepotism but always good to have connections in the wider game
RoadRunnerFan
Think Dan Ashworth was involved with the England set up around tge same time as Markham.
Bertie
If the rumours of Dack are true then on one hand really exciting for us given his early days at Blackburn. Just checked wiki and brought back down to earth though - done his ACLs in both knees in last 4 years 🙄

paulhanley
Dack has a brilliant scoring record for a midfielder but a worrying recent injury record. We can debate whether he'd be any good for us. What is certain is that he's the type of midfielder we could do with adding. One of two - the other being the midfield bastard many say we lack. W.cramp
Dack would score quite a few in league 1 if he stayed fit. 12 months with an option for a further 12 would be fair

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 20, 2023 Site Supporter Share Posted July 20, 2023 Essentially like Lee. Came to us with a record of recent injuries. Served us well, but with injuries still occurring. Chance you take.

I think the difference is Lee's injuries were frequent niggles we could manage Dack's injuries were bad'uns that seem to have had a significant impact I suppose it might come down to his wage expectations

Deanu
Large part of the WBA fanbase are throwing a paddy about how they've allowed us to get a view to perm on Ashworth so he must have a few admirers coming through the ranks & he fits the bill of the Cogley/Forrester who've had a small taste of Champ footy who we believe will excel in a settled team at L1 level. Supposedly announcing an attacking mid tomorrow? Dack sounds like a lazy link to me unless others know something concrete but if we have took the gamble on him then it'll have meant we've got him on a sensible deal nothing silly. Hard to see him pressing from the Lee role with his two dodgy knees but would be a great weapon off the bench to change a game.
Wanderlust
Confused about the Dack rumour. He was on £8k a week at Rovers. Not happy with the idea of getting Rovers sloppy seconds, especially when that kind of wage could get us better. F*** know how much Baccus' agent was asking for. radcliffe white
Already have JDB who spends time in the treatment room do we need another I suppose if he’s asking for a reasonable wage to reflect his previous problems then a 1 year deal could work

To get genuine championship quality to drop to L1, we're signing an injury risk, a 30+ year old or someone frozen out the 1st team picture at their current club

I don't think a player who was on 8k a week with a terrible injury record gets 8k a week at his next club As a complete guess, I'd say Baccus would be on 2k a week now and we offered 3k Dack would probably get a similar offer, £2-3k Based on this, which relatively speaking is probably as accurate as you'd find: https://salarysport.com/football/league-one/bolton-wanderers/
