We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Can't fault his work rate or attitude but be best for everybody. He did his job of getting the goals to get us out of L2 now it's time to all look ahead to the future and the present to accel. He'd be alright off the bench if he saved his energy he uses up in 90 mins and put it into a 20 minute cameo against tired legs but doubt he'd want to be a bench player plus we need to free up wages for new players as he is a high earner

Knowing our luck he will do his acl in the first month. Although paying dollar for a player is another big step for us and positive news

Probably won't be match ready for a month, hasn't played in ages.

This been coming since Sarce left, hope we get 2 strikers in if he goes.

Doesn’t make sense to get one and let one go. If that’s the case we need two in

Didn't we sign Doyle on "big" money £5,000 a week or something? Raised a few eyebrows at the time. Be surprised if Dion Charles is getting that.

Barmy to let Doyle go if Charles signs , unless there’s a plan in place of course .

Not some under 21 loanee though.

I'd be sorry if the Doyle story was true. He's misfired this season but he's a great deal more than that to us, our style, our ethos currently. Plus Charles will take time to get up to speed.

Doyle will get his chance to return to Ireland if that's what he wants, but no need until the summer at the soonest.

Think he owns a business in Ireland, so may be happy to move nearer home.

You’d think we’d still want him in the squad for Saturday, but the article seems to suggest otherwise.

”Bolton and Doyle have come to an arrangement on the remainder of his contract to allow him to become a free agent and join Pat’s once the transfer window opens this weekend.”

Anyone else find this a bit fucking odd?

dont think his head has been in it since sarce left really

deffo still think something went on

If nowt else it frees up a decent chunk of budget that can probably be put to better use.

Division 4 was his level, let’s be honest.

Rotherham would make him look like a competition winner.

Thanks for last season fella, all the best.

Remember at the time sarce story broke and numerous people said Doyle was gone as well at same time.

with what was being said I was surprised he was still here and would explain his lack of form I guess?

I trust Evatt to have replacements lined up.

We all knew Doyle’s race had been run at this level I think

Go back to when we signed him on this thread and I said he couldn’t live at this level then.

I actually really like the lad and wish him nothing but the best. His passion for our club last year was there for all to see. Summat not quite right in addition to his limited ability this season.

Bob on.  Much as we were willing him to turn it around, it wasn't happening.

Thanks for everything Eoin and good luck.

At the time of 'Sarcegate' there was talk of 'another going' I seem to recall. Maybe it's time to go.

Cant disagree with any of that.

Good goalscorer but the combination you highlight means it didn’t quite happen for him this season.

Thanks and good luck.

Time for us to move on now.

Best wishes to Doyle from me, he played a huge part in last season's promotion & even if he's not had the same impact this season, we've been a better team when he's played, he's been our best frontman by a mile & there's never been any doubt about the effort he puts in.

If he's gone, it leaves us desperately short upfront for now, but if we can use his saved wages & recruit well, it might be for the best longer term.

3 year deal was always too big however at the time we had no option he was a good scorer in L2

he won us promotion with his goals so fair play but he’s out of his depth in this league

Mmmm , not convinced.

Mr Iles would have announced it yesterday

Agreed.

Maybe something wasn't right over he Sarc thing, who knows, but the king is dead, long live the King.

😂😂 if we had a leaderboard of ITK from posters on here and thumb head he wouldn’t even be mid table. He’s a mile off the pace at the best of times.

im not saying he has defo gone btw. Until its announced by the club it ain’t set in stone. Was more aimed at our esteemed journo
