Perhaps they should stop over 55s voting they might get the result they want then.

Don’t worry MK the GE is only ‘advisory ‘

the research was quite definitive, about 75% of the 1.8m voters would vote for remain in another referendum. I assume they would also vote for remain supporting parties in the forthcoming election

How many did it ask?

As parliament have just said that 3 million additional voters would be added, does that mean there are 1.2 million missed?

And has Google asked how many people believe in democracy and are happy for brexit to proceed even if they voted to leave?

We all know what the intention of these amendments are about, and there will no doubt be a higher proportion of remainers amongst them.

However, how many will actually bother voting?

Fwiw, I reckon my lad (15) is fairly well versed in current political issues, probably moreso than plenty older than him. However he lacks sufficient maturity and isn't yet world-wise. By the time he reaches 16, although he will have developed, I don't feel he will be there by then.

If people are of an age they can legally be in full time employment then they should get a right to vote. If you are able to work 40 hours a week and pay tax on income then your voice is as good as anyone else’s.

An amendment for 16 & 17 olds to vote.

A strange one this, not legally old enough to take a drink, not allowed to fight on the frontline (used to be but I think not so now) and not allowed to get wed without parental approval, but mature enough to cast a vote.

This argument that it's their future that is being affected doesn't hold water: it potentially affects everyone irrespective of age, we have to draw a line somewhere. So what do we think; 16, 17, 18?

I'm not sure about it either......and I agree with the points you make above...............but, they are old enough to pay tax to the government, so therefore should they not have a say in who that government is??! (simply playing devils advocate here)

For me, it should remain at 18

By the way, that says 1.4 million, not 1.8 million as you quoted.

It's also an 'independent' article, which quotes a remain centric MP.

At least it admits it's a ploy to overturn the previous result.

I quoted 1m so its higher than I quoted. So we only have to believe Brexit Central articles now?

Everything in there is fact. As much as that must be hard to swallow.

In 2017 you posted that we should all support May as she was doing a great job getting a good deal against the EU enemy. Given that - I'm not sure you do anything other than regurgitate whatever nonsense the likes of Brexitcentral and the Mail tell you to at any single time.

You said TM got a deal but the ‘Brexit mob in her own party blocked it’

The number of ERG members in the Tory Party is unknown but it is roughly estimated about 70-80 members, TM lost her first vote by a majority of202 MP’s, obviously not just the ‘Brexit mob’, so that’s just one ‘fact’ that you got wrong

As usual your opinion is dressed up as facts

I am familiar with Brexitcentral and other Leave and Remain supporting organisation’s I try to read all information available to get a more balanced view, however I can say I have never read the Mail, I suggest you look beyond Paul Mason and the Gruniad

As the polls currently stand the Conservatives will win a healthy majority.

However the opposition remainiac liberal zealots will then claim:

* Conservative voters didn't know what they were voting for

* Every politician who said something during the campaign that they disagreed with lied

* The General Election result is only advisory

* Because some people didn't vote the overall proportion of the electorate who voted Tory was less than 50 per cent. The result should therefore be null and void.

The bar has now been set on respect for the result of polls. What's to stop them getting up to their old tricks again?

This election, is it fair to summarise:

Tory= boris deal & leave

labour =new deal and then referendum on it v staying?

Lib Dem = 2nd referendum or revoke ?

Brexit party = no deal ?

I know there be people saying about much more, NHS, schools and stuff but it’s going to be about Brexit so is the above a fair reflection? I’ve lost track

So why are we their enemy? 😂

You keep reminding us how centric and backward they are and they are a failing entity. Why would we be a threat to them?

Not quite

Labour will campaign against the new deal they’ve negotiated with the EU

Lib Dens have moved to an extreme revoke position

Have I?

i can’t ever recall using “centric” or backward wrt the EU.

Failing? Yes

They are already treating us like enemies, why would that improve if we were ever lucky enough to leave?

I don’t blame them for treating us badly; it’s business.

I think they've been more than civil given the fact we're fucking them off.

In what way have they treated us badly in your opinion?
