where as that doesn't make it look so good 😁

Although, as our resident Aussie says, we should wait until the end of their term before judging them

oops, apologies, that's apparently only relevant to American politics, where we need to wait until the end of their term. In UK politics, we should be judging them immediately of course, especially if it's Labour running the show

Precisely what has gone wrong in politics over recent times.

Everything is spun, incorrectly claimed, disingenuous etc etc.

Often the real, whole information is out there. More so nowadays.

Journalists, and folk with a penchant for such analysis can readily pick it all to pieces.

There were some recent comments by MPs about the recent court rulings on the old trans/sex debate.

Posts made by some were completely wrong: total misinterpretation of the rulings and a lack of understanding of its effect.

Not sure if any reports about it were made on any media channel whatsoever.

Nevertheless, others have picked up on it and gone through these posts.

Unfortunately, without adequate challenge some of them may be taken as gospel.

Shit show all round.

...or better still, never let the ideological incompetents anywhere near no. 10.

I noticed the change in Zico too.

A worrying trend.

In all fairness, that was a good prediction, nobody but the wiliest of football fans could have predicted that the guy who had previously won the Europa league 4 times, and done a clean sweep in France would be able to get a team to finish 4th in the Premier League

Very easy to say now but it wasn't in November '22 was it? No, it was all 'failed at Arsenal', 'Can't cut it in the PL', 'Anybody can do well in Spain' blah, blah. There was even a 'knows nothing about football' jibe when highlighting what a shrewd appointment it was. We are all wise (a stretch in your case I know) after the event.

No doubt you'll soon be on the "Gyokeres was always going to do well in the PL after what he did at Sporting ('or something like that')" bandwagon very soon.

As has been the norm on here, the visionaries knew.

Hold on there Tonto...

I'd like to think that anybody who knows anything about football knew what a great appointment Emery was in 2022. I'm not even sure he was an unmitigated disaster at Arsenal, I think personally they pulled the trigger too soon. His record with both Valencia and Sevilla was good. Anybody can do well in Spain...if you're at Barcelona or Real Madrid, otherwise it's always going to be tricky.

As for Gyokeres, he's nowhere near the standard of playing for one of the top teams in the world, like the previous big money forward from Portugal (Nunez) big money that is/was ultimately wasted  -  scoring goals in Portugal is the equivalent of scoring them in the Scottish Premier League, to be ignored, as take away the top couple of teams ,and the rest are absolute dogshit.

So, going back to being a "visionary"  - with regards to Emery, give over, most knew he'd do OK with a club like Villa, especially after the debacle of Gerrard being in charge (...let's go back to how utter dogshit Portuguese and Scotch football is....why appoint somebody who won a league with Rangers, it means almost nothing)

Is Bolty the same visionary who predicted the next Churchills and Thatchers?

That. Visionary?

Yes, that one, also predicted an easy win in the Ashes, we need to move on from those though....

His current darling is throwing a strop at not being allowed to just wander in to a military facility

That is/was all very odd, travelling 6000 miles, totally uninvited, and then wondering why he's not allowed onto an active military base. Still, why do local constituency work, when you can pull a stunt like that and have a bit of a jolly for a few days.

Guidelines innit

Wonder what will happen to those responsible for not doing their jobs?

Gross misconduct, gross negligence manslaughter, etc?

Can understand if they were put under pressure, but they should have grown a pair nonetheless.

More votes for Reform/Restore.

He also used the van of one of the people he murdered to ram into three others, resulting in life-changing injuries

He'd previously been discharged "despite refusing to take his medication and not engaging properly with staff"

Can of worms on my end this...

Someone with phycosis being allowed to go around un monitored..

Be interesting to see what the outcome is, as someone's accountable

There needs to be accountability for these instances. It’s clearly a huge failure in this public service. The issue is, if staff get sent down or become culpable legally for things like this, the care system will really struggle (even more) to recruit

The bosses are the ones that sign these things off, they are the ones that should face the repercussions not individual care workers.

Anyone making a decision against locking up a wrongun for fear of being racist shouldn't be making any future decisions for the safety of all.

As always with these stories there will be more to it than the story suggests but it still needs a proper official investigation to find out why this happened and if any actual negligence has occurred and what should be done going forwards

The report is from the ongoing inquiry

Having had a proper read up it's not just the decision in 2020 to treat him in the community due to “research that shows over-representation of young black males in detention” (not sure that counts as not wanting to be racist) but failure to act by the police on at least 2 occasions and his release from psychiatric care in 2022 when he clearly shouldn't have been.

This a collosal fuck up by all responsible parties, pinning it on 'he was free cos some do gooder type didn't want to seem racist' let's the rozzers and other officials off the hook massively.
