Read a few articles since your posts last week. Not always the most balanced, but think this from the Guardian is the most informative I’ve read so far - https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jul/07/who-are-the-pro-gaza-independents-who-unseated-labour-mps

As you say, some of them have said some concerning things, but put into context don’t necessarily reflect their views. 
 

Ayoub Khan is the one I think has some concerning views, not sure the others hold any values to be worried about & seem fairly liberal. Early days though. 

Starmer has been quick to show his stance on Gaza though, so it’s clearly made an impact. 
 

Spoken out in support of the right to a Palestinian state. Something Israel don’t currently want. And also dropped the Tory stance to appeal Netanyahu’s arrest for war crimes.

 Fair play to the lad.

Just read there are more MPs in parliament now that were in Gordon Browns cabinet in 2010 than there are MPs who in Boris cabinet in 2022.

You can have concerns about politics, race and religion with it boiling down to hate you know.

I meant to mention 5 Pillars and their "The Muslim Vote" initiative in a post to someone last week but then got distracted with other things

I think it'll likely prove to be the case that the first time elected independent MPs weren't simply elected as protest votes over Gaza but have instead been elected to defend Islamic interests
