Not always the most balanced, but think this from the Guardian is the most informative I’ve read so far - https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jul/07/who-are-the-pro-gaza-independents-who-unseated-labour-mps As you say, some of them have said some concerning things, but put into context don’t necessarily reflect their views. Ayoub Khan is the one I think has some concerning views, not sure the others hold any values to be worried about & seem fairly liberal. Early days though. Starmer has been quick to show his stance on Gaza though, so it’s clearly made an impact. Spoken out in support of the right to a Palestinian state. Something Israel don’t currently want. And also dropped the Tory stance to appeal Netanyahu’s arrest for war crimes. Fair play to the lad. Quote

deeane Koontz Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 It was the perfect storm for a protest vote. Starmer going on Nick Ferrari's show like a dog with 10 dicks saying it was alreet to cut off basic supplies to Gaza didn't help. Quote

I try and read most news outlets and editorias tbh, nice to have a bit of balance instead of a one track head in the sand way of thinking 👍 Quote

It clearly works. Quote
Ani Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Just read there are more MPs in parliament now that were in Gordon Browns cabinet in 2010 than there are MPs who in Boris cabinet in 2022. Almost as though he surrounded himself with incompetent chancers. Quote

I don't hate a single person on this planet bar James McClean and the traffic warden that did me last week in town. You can have concerns about politics, race and religion with it boiling down to hate you know. Free speech and open minds and all that. The more you think about it, you and your kind don't half try and shut down a lot of debate. It goes against everything you pretend to defend. Quote

I assure you I (whatever "kind" you've decided I am) have no power whatsoever to "shut down debate", and nor would I try if I did. You seem to think someone disagreeing with you means you're being "shut down". You fanny. Quote
