Cheese Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Actually doing things instead of coming up with meaningless slogans to use as groundbait for your moronic base. It'll never catch on. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c74lw8j38k5o Quote

royal white Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 So we are at that stage of the new government are we. Anything bad happening “but it’s because of 14 years of shite” anything good “this is new Labour” 😂 Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Are folk playing politics with this story? There was quite a substantial trafficking gang taken down a while back. No doubt some involvement from the NCA and/or other agencies too. All good news. Such work, together with counterparts will have been going on for years. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be having much of an effect, given the numbers still arriving. Until we have a system that has a strong deterrent and also chucks them back quickly, nothing much will change. Italy has just suffered in the way we have previously, with judges making such work so difficult. Another move that will thrust the public and politics into a more aggressive approach. Quote
BobyBrno Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 A long list of previous successes by the NCA here. They are doing a great job. https://www.nationalcrimeagency.gov.uk/component/tags/tag/organised-immigration-crime Quote

Lt. Aldo Raine Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 These kinds of arrests and even convictions have been happening on for quite a while Unfortunately, they never seem to have quite the impact hoped for but nevertheless each arrest is good news Quote

The politicians themselves (not the weepy wrist slashing morons) seem to have acted (stress 'acted') relatively gracefully. All they really have is to push the image of peaceful acceptance in contrast to the frothing at the mouth crazies after the previous election. I don't think some of them will be as graceful with what is to come when the big man sets about wreaking vengeance on those who conspired to stitch him up through a weaponised legal system. It's like waiting for the new football season. Quote

By setting up a JIT, authorities were able to work closely together, exchange evidence and carry out joint actions. The JIT was set up following investigations conducted under the framework of a Europol Operation Task Force set up to combat migrant smuggling with small boats across the English Channel. Agreement between Britain and Belgium was made in 2021 👍 Edited November 15, 2024 by royal white Quote
