No problems indicated on National Rail app so far. Bus to Manchester in 40 minutes so I’d best get my skates on. I’m sure it’ll be a good day out, but I’m very much questioning my sanity at the moment, especially as the weather is sounding shite outside.

Fucked it. Been stationary for over an hour. Cracked track at Bamford.

Bloody hell Patrick. Glad we got the early train now, though probably not good news for the trip home.

Any luck on getting any further?

Yeah mate, hopefully make the 12.11 Sheffield to Peterborough train. Should have been in a pub there for that time.

A win in relative terms. Was worried about the return journey but it seems to have sorted itself out. About to arrive in Peterborough, but not before I’ve supped a can courtesy of @Casino 👍

Just got here and sat in the former cargo hold of a176 feet long barge on the river called Charters... That's the bar not the barge.

The barge was called Leendert-R and was built in 1907. It worked the rivers and canals of Holland, Belgium and Germany until 1990.
