GP’s surgeries worrying they might not get through a whole 900 injections, pudding about with consent forms ffs I wonder how many of the millions of people who have lost their jobs signed a consent form for that? Its bollocks No its not. I posted a good while back about the hoops that have to be gone through. It isnt as simple as you make it out. Hundreds, if not thousands of new low temp freezers had to be made. Then the mhra impose their own rules which restrict how its it transported and used. Now there's a new variant, which infecting more people including nhs staff.

Mid Feb is another 7 weeks off, by which point the government have had 3 months to vaccinate folk. They only need to do 5m and half the risk has gone, surely as the risk deteriorates we will move down the Tiers Normal might well be the summer but people wont stand for being in Tier 4 until summer

Fuck knows why they are bothering with low temp freezers They are sent from the factory in shippers covered in dry ice that lasts at least 10 days (30 days if the dry ice is replaced). They then last another 3 days in a normal freezer They came out weeks ago talking about doing 1m injections a week, they have dove 700k so far, complete bollocks by the government yet again

The one we try and get back to.normal quicker, the longer it will take. He was confident at some point next year we'll be back to almost normal but tonrush to.open thing up too much by March would be foolhardy. Schools and the health service the priority. I was there a few years ago, they had a room the size of a football pitch with about 300 dna sequencers in. Each machine cost half a million. They delayed getting it sent as they had a load of questions to clear up about dosing. You don’t submit, then withdraw, if you find that you got the dosing wrong. That would kill it dead
Ani
8 minutes ago, Escobarp said: What’s the supposed delay in approval? I mean given the relative speed of the pfizer approval? As I understand it (or what I understood listening to wireless). When a vaccine is approved it is not a case of saying yes it works. You also have to specify the conditions when it is issued and the anticipated results that need to be monitored and reported on. We all know the AZ had its cock up in testing with the half dose. So the data is not as exact as it should be. That is not to say it does not work but in a number of segments where the data is incomplete the margin of error is questionable. The data is needed as when more vaccines are available medical professionals will need to decide that vaccine A is best for a certain patient.
