How about, ask the vulnerable to isolate this Xmas in order to minimise the risk to the NHS? Afterall they represent 99% of the hospitalisations 

It’s as reasonable to ask them to take additional precautions for a few more weeks (until they get the vaccine) as it is to ask everyone to take additional precautions

What would be the point of going into tier 2 though? Ok you can get a pint with a meal & maybe get to see a footy match - but at what cost? London is proof that T2 doesn’t work and coupled with the 5 day xmas bubble, i can only see our cases rising fast, which would  lead to even sticter measures in the new year. Tough on the hospitality game admittedly, but i’m not convinced they’d all bother opening till next year anyway.

Why about Liverpool and/or other T2 areas

They aren’t all going up linearly so why take London as proof?

I think they're probably shitting themselves at the minute, as their next announcement will be that they're banning this 5 days at Christmas lark. My guess, is everybody into T3 until they review it again January 7th

Can’t see them banning the 5 days, 3 households mixing is hardly a free for all is it 

I’d imagine that with educational settings closed for 2 weeks and what seems like most of the country not working for at least a week (utilising holidays they haven’t used thus far) then the R rate will be lower over Xmas that it has been these last couple of weeks anyway

I think they will though use the relaxations as a reason to keep in tier 3 and say we can’t have both so we’ve gone with what we thought at the start. I hope I’m wrong though

Government meeting today to decide what to do, announcement tomorrow - but i would imagine some details will leak out later today. Now that London is the area with the fastest rising cases & the new strain, i’d expect some knee jerk/downright stupid/extreme measures. Next revue is 23 Dec btw.

I reckon we should shorten this xmas bubble bollox from 5 days to 3 ( xmas eve, xmas day, boxing day) with a maximum of 12 adults. I also think gtr m/cr should remain in T3 till new year. Then if our numbers allow it, put us in T1 early in the new year.
