Isn’t that exactly how we’ve suffered? London goes into tier 4 and those who can, fuck off in all directions.

As British Railways used to say, “We’re getting you there.”

Problem is, their successors ought not to have been allowed to.

Unless we put soldiers on the streets, have police closing motorways etc, you're not going to stop the spread.

Not enough enforcement capacity, nor compliance.

Neither is their anything remotely like political will to do down such a route from anyone.

In the US Trump said it would be gone by Easter.

I was talking specifically about the doomsday British mutation stuff.

However, he blocked off travel from the Brits a long, long times before this happened

He managed to get Farage over to boost his campaign.

We are the biggest testers in the world by % of population, 58m test so far, something like 750k out of 1m have had a test, although some people will have had multiple tests.

The death rate in the next 7 to 14 days is going to increase, obviously due to the increased infection rates, and when they start testing in schools and colleges after the new year, the infection rate is gonna go through the roof, that's if schools aren't closed by then.

I'll be in work, but can't see kids being in ..

They'll create a new Tier 5 just for the North though 😁

Ive heard (on the QT) London will go into tier 3.5. Pubs open through the back door with lock-ins limited to 3am. Sensible I think that?

You would think the beer will be subsidized as well? Take it from northern council budgets and healthcare ?

691 deaths today

I read today that since this started there's been under 370 UK deaths "with covid" of under 60's with no known pre-existing condition.

That's bonkers

Shes on oxygen now just to move around having spent 3 weeks in hospital with the virus.

It is, but "pre-existing" covers quite a lot of things, I think even being a fatty counts as a "condition" doesn't it?

Just been talking with someone involved in running my daughter’s football club which is in Hertfordshire. Over the last few months they’ve been having a positive case in a squad roughly every 10 days. In the last week alone they’ve had 16 squads with a positive test. Enforced Christmas break came at just the right time.

Aye. I didn't realise until I saw that predictor, that as an epileptic, I have a 'condition' that puts me at higher risk. Not sure why, but it was on the list.
