I feel particularly sorry for shop workers at the moment with the shit they're having to put up with. I give them all a thumbs up The next time I'm at a supermarket check out I'm going to clap the checkout operator everytime they scan an item Quote

It’s just random chance. Viruses move from animals to humans every so often. It’s just mostly they don’t become able to pass between humans. Sometimes they mutate so they can. But then they might not be that virulent. This one has the cell binding protein gene that makes it a good spreader. It it lacked that we’d have been able to stop it. Quote

It seems to me that with viruses, the easier they spread the less deadly? Or do the deadlier ones kill their hosts too soon before they can spread? They are right clever fuckers either way the minuscule little bastards. Quote

But a really deadly virus is easier to stop quicker because it’s hosts die and also easier to identify given severe illness. Trouble with this one is most have relatively mild illness. In a way worse of all worlds. BUT better than something like a novel influenza outbreak that could be far deadlier but with equal infection rates. Quote
