If travel routes are open by June, then there are going to be lots of people with flight tickets they probably don't need.

Aye, we might be all right

The embargo might have worked in our favour oddly, still a lot of outgoings though

I can see plenty clubs going under, likely that the EFL will scrap admin rules in these cases (no -12 pts etc)

St Helens chairman on today saying the whole sport (Rugby League) could go under, they look set to miss a whole season

Reading that it brings it home how much worse it could have been for football in the short term.  For now we all have the prospect of losing around a quarter of the season, which is bad enough, but if all this had happened 6 months ago, there would be a very real chance of losing the entire season.  Absolute financial carnage for most clubs from the Prem to the lowest semi pro clubs.  So its disastrous for the rugby clubs to be losing upto 90% of their season.  From the outside looking in, it could be curtains.  County Cricket clubs presumably in the same boat, presumably every chance they won't play this year and Lancs probably wont get any Test match income.

Oxford away hanging on by the skin of it's teeth... 😆

We'll be going at some stage but it probably won't be the last game of the season now.

A different relegation party then.

Cant see this season being completed as the 30/04 date will probably get pushed back again .

Questions are:

Will they scrub it & go back to 'as you were' or come up with some crap plan that relegates us ?

Can we survive financially in the scuppered season scenario ?

Will I , being a owd tawt , survive the virus anyway ??

Unlikely in the extreme, but it'd be some trip if it's the first weekend of football after the break though!

Talk of finishing the season whenever they can

Let’s say August they get back together for training ahead of the season re starting in September

You've then got 2-3 months of football to fit in which takes you to Xmas, before a mid season break so clubs can get themselves set for a new season

When are you starting the following season, March?

Likeky have another round of social distancing when this virus kicks off again mid winter

Here he is

Oxford away in May as an opener, season wrapped up by June then start as normal in August in league 2

We won’t be starting our league 2 season until August 2021 (unless they change to a summer calendar)

Oxford won’t happen fair enough

this season will be completed end of June

next will be ok, do away with domestic cups

bish bosh

now go and panic buy some bog roll

We've got to be realistic, there's not going to be any football this year.  Even if the virus is clearing in a few months, what government is going to say its OK for 50,000 fans to go to a match?  And as said above, if there's likely to be a further outbreak during winter, its even less likely that they'll speed that up by encouraging crowds to gather.  Best scenario is the virus is clearing by say Sep/Oct, enough to mean a winter increase wouldn't be a huge setback to the underlying trend, and by this time next year the country is moving on from it and gradually normalising.  Football (and rugby etc) from March 2021 so that this season would simply end a year late, no need for messing about with starting a new season in winter.

If that's how it pans out we would be out of the embargo before the transfer window for the first season in League 2
