RUREADY2ROLL Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 There will be no football before July and could be even August so I reckon that all the divisions will be voided. The question then for us will, or can they legally, deduct us 12 points again Quote

But then I begin to see more and more mention of how clubs are keen to get closed door games on by May/June. I wonder what will give first, public health or big money. Quote
Escobarp Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 I believe fwiw that it will be next season that’s scrapped and this one finished whenever possible to maintain the integrity of the leagues. I hope I’m wrong Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 (edited) They could finish this season then next season just play each team but half the teams at home half away so just 26 fixtures in league 3 this would mean next season could start after this season is finished and after a late summer/ autumn break. I’d prefer a cancellation even if it meant 12 point deduction next season. Edited March 25, 2020 by Mounts Kipper Quote

Casino Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 I dont like only playing teams once Prefer smaller leagues Play home and away Maybe funneling at the end into play offs But i think we will be playing again early 21 so will just play out this season Quote
Traf Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Just let Doncaster decide all the results of outstanding fixtures. Quote

Split each league in to two, either regionally or based on previous league positions, play each other home and away and then play offs between the top however many in each league. Quote

Do it regionally by all means Ideally put us in the london pot But, seriously, local games would be great for clubs on their uppers Quote

radcliffe white Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 This season will be completed at some point imo after that fuck knows especially with the euros rescheduled Quote
paulhanley Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 I've been wondering for a while if there's some fix they can do that factors in that stupid 2022 World Cup from November to December. The 2022/23 is already up shit creek because of that. You could finish this season in September/October, have November and December 2020 as pre/season... then effectively have a 2022 season that runs through to November that year. The only trouble with my theory is that'd leave a fucking enormous pre season from January 2023 through to August 2023! Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Grass roots been cancelled for this season, I think it’s likely we will be league one again next season. Quote
Casino Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Just pisted on other thread Its stupid deciding at this stage Its not impossible that we dont play again til next year If that was the case, finish this season If its august, id say start afresh Or end this season by christmas Then squeeze in a 5 or 6 monther, playing 20 odd games Quote
jayjayoghani Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Good idea to split the leagues so you get home and away games and full integrity. So you'd have League one North and South or summat. One up from each league automatically, then the 2 2nd places play off for the other promotion spot. Not sure you could split the Premier League though? Either a 19 game league season with 10home/9 away vice versa or 2 divs of 10, each home and away so 18 games. 2 divisional winners playoff for the title. As you can see I'm bored. Quote
Jol_BWFC Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 EFL to push back the 30 April restart date. New date to be decided next week. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-8156383/Coronavirus-UK-English-football-NOT-return-April-30-new-date-announced-week.html Quote

If two northern teams it could go to Old Trafford and if two southern teams who gives a fuck. If one of each then villa or similar. Fuck this fixation with Wembley off. Quote
Traf Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Football isn't coming back any time soon. There's no need to void/abandon leagues without a definitive resumption date. Once the FA have a date for PL & EFL to resume, then non-league should also just pick up where they left off and then a new calendar can be set out. The PL is set to close for 2 months at the end of 2022 for the WC anyway, and many EFL games will get postponed too. It might take a while to get the program back in sync, but to void a season isn't the right way forward. Quote
radcliffe white Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Just reading there will be lawyers from various clubs ready to kick off if void big can of worms Quote

The EFL hasn't got the money to contest dozens of cases from clubs denied promotion/play off chances etc Quote
