Leyther_Matt
Only started liking black pudding in the last 10 years or so and even then I used to only eat it if I had beans or bacon or whatever on the fork at the same time. Still nowhere near confident enough to just lob it in a huge pan of boiling water like my dad used to. Always made me boak just looking at it. Does it taste much different done that way rather than just frying slices?

Me and the missus often lament the absence of Jersey Royals down here. Salted and buttered - beautiful. With bacon and the fat drizzled over, abolutely out of this world. Duck Egg
I miss the steamed black puddings at Smithills coaching house. Lots of salt and a slather of mustard. French or English. Lovely

Always miss that place when I go home.
ErnestTurnip
Don't forget that black pudding is already cooked so can be eaten as is with no messing about, lad from Wigan introduced me to just buying one of the small puds and eating it straight from the skin years ago. Do prefer it grilled though.
Not in Crawley
I always have to tell southerners this fact, I don't like them grilled, they lose a lot of the flavour. Quick boil or steamed for me.

Not in Crawley
This isn't a local food thing but on a Saturday afternoon on occasion I treat myself to a pot noodle butty. White toasty Warbys with loads of butter. Love it - but only the chicken one. I'm not a total animal. Also love chicken soup poured over chips - thats a treat. I think charlottes are as good as anything. Have a look for a few seed spuds and try a few in a tub. As an early they are ready first, and taste even better when freshly dug. Soil to gob, via the steamer in less than half an hour.
