It’s on a downward trend.

The vaccination programme has rendered it no more deadly than flu in terms of numbers of folk it kills.

I know it’s still shit when people die of it, but we’re now really at the stage where the risk of any lockdowns are far more costly then hiding from Covid anymore.

Any damage the government did was in the early days but that’s old ground. The awarding of dodgy contracts was despicable, of course.

We need to crack on.

Downward trend. 26,000 cases yesterday, 32,000 today, and its on a downward trend. Really.

The 7 day average is trending down though. There were 37000 cases same day last week.

And 178 deaths yesterday, staggers me that the government thinks it's acceptable.

People die

About 7k a week on average

My personal outlook has always been when Covid deaths are roughly equivalent to road accidents then it becomes acceptable. I drive my car for leisure and work and accept this level of risk. I take extra risks by riding motorbikes and flying aeroplanes  but that is down to me.

I can't see that any new infection or death is acceptable since blundering Boris decided to announce freedom day and lift all restrictions. Is there any other country in Europe with more new infections each day. No, because each one has some level of restrictions.

Do you not live in Spain?

I heard that Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson was using Half Time Wugger analogies today to motivate his new government... not the type of bloke to be in charge during a national crisis

Yes but that doesn't I've no interest in what goes on, as I still have family there. All through the covid pandemic all we've heard from the UK is how well they have dealt with it, vaccine rollout etc. Well look at the figures now.

Yes declining. And here’s the most important thing. We are all living our lives again and I will be honest it feels great. So with all due respect ram your negativity where the sun doesn’t shine 😎

Can’t hide forever

The vaccine is doing a great job.

People are still free to mask up and restrict themselves, by the way.

I agree, 3,000 cases in Spain yesterday. UK figures of infections are shocking.

I have to wear a mask here. In England I wear one when I want to if I don’t feel comfortable.

ive had both jabs. I’m living as normal a life as I can do. If I get COVID and die that’s a risk IVE chosen to take and so be it. Same as folk can lock themselves away. Enough now.

I can't understand people in the UK reluctance to see what a bloody mess Boris has made of the covid crisis. Locking down too late, advising, instead of instructing, relaxing restrictions to quickly, failing to lockdown over Christmas properly and then announcing freedom day as if covid has magically disappeared.

There’s a thread about politics.

Bedwetter

It's just the flu. Mounts told us that in March 2020.

Oh yes, all the deaths, long covid, all the suffering of thousands of people losing love ones, it's all a hugh bluff. I wouldn't wish covid on anyone, but a mild dose might make you wake up and face reality.
