But even when people were 'falling like flies' Spider has always compared it to flu.

Incorrect

I was as worried as most people

But the vaccine is the answer.

You are dismissing flu as a seasonal annoyance. It’s killed more people than Covid ever will.

Maybe over many years. But it's never been a pandemic.

Covid has moved to endemic now, like flu.

Its shit, but we must carry on.

Sorry you don’t like it, but it’s the majority view.

"..but it’s the majority view."

So is;

Being on social media as an adult is acceptable.

Drinking Carling Lager natch.

Love Island is good.

Ditto Eastenders.

McDonald's is food.

Adults referring to the above as 'Maccy D's' is OK practice.

This ^ is up there with reading about a pervert who interferes with de kids or [me] being fondled by a nonce (they'd suffer for that) on my 'Mad-Ometer'.

In fact I'd have any grown man who'd used this term castrated (and not chemical, actually physically cut their goolies off). Harridans who've used it - tie their tubes and put any existent kids they have into care.

You were doing so well until the last sentence.

Flu vaccines are less effective, taken by fewer people yet the death rate is higher with covid.

In years to come, countries may learn to live with it, like they have with mers and sars, doesn't mean that covid won't kill more than flu in years to come. Especially as they'll "compete" for the weak and vulnerable.

Approx. 5million so far have died from COVID.

In our (my) lifetime pandemics have accounted for the following.

1 to 1.1 million died from Asian flu 1957-58.

1 million died from Hong Kong flu 1968-70.

25-35 million died from AIDS 1981 to present.

Data from here. It is 2 years out of date.

So is the answer yes or no then?

It’s a simple answer, yes. How many is uncertain. Some say 25,000 a year. People over the age of 65 are offered a flu jab. Many take it up. The figures would be much higher if they didn’t.
Modern medicine is a wonderful thing. By modern I mean anything after Alexander Fleming.

Have those numbers changed significantly since the covid outbreak? Genuine question...

My mum has been knocked for six by the booster, she's really not great at the moment.

Ditto with my old man, he’s really struggling at the min, he’s always had his flu jab and had his vaccines as and when but the booster at the min has knocked him for 6. I’m just hoping it’s a 48/72 hr thing

See case numbers are still dropping week on week.

Thought we were supposed to be at 100k a day by now?

Good job not everyone acts like MP's then.

I probably see half a dozen folk a day wearing masks now, and I’m out and about a fair bit.

The vaccine would appear to be providing massive protection.

Lets crack on, you feel free to stay at home.
