@stevieb

When I was making my poverty stricken pasta I still reserved enough for a 2L 'Barnstormer' cider...

I'd even walk an extra 1km as Cawdor Street Stores sold it for £1.69 rather than the local shop which charged £1.99.

When skint booze comes first.

There's always doorstep milk.

Or stick "dear milkman, please leave potatoes, an orange juice, yoghurts and eggs tomorrow please, thanks" note in a empty doorstep bottle at a posh house last thing, then swoop for the booty first thing...

The thought of the toffs and milkie having an argument over a bill for non-existent goods (to the toffs) being a bonus.

Growing up in Bromley Cross our E ridden teenage adventures regularly involved robbing folk getting orange juice or chocolate milk delivered at 5am coming down.

Had a Bombay Mix and Salad Cream sandwich today

I like a Cofresh Balti Mix butty (massive bag for a quid during Ramadan, as is most asian stuff, reduced, I never buy rice outside Ramadan - big pans and big storage stuff too) - unbuttered, I'm not an animal.

I think Salad Cream would detract from the spiciness though...

Although it would prevent droppage (of the mix) from the butty...

Maybe I'll give it a go.

You've got to mooch about then.

The fake note planted the night before means you know exactly where your goodies will be.

Some woman who works with MrsD sent home a jar of home made strawberry and chilli jam a week ago.

Question: why?

I don’t mean why did she send it. More why did she make it in the first place?

Fucking shit!

You eat in at a chippy? As mentioned on a recent previous post... it's shit. Last, lazy minute job. Far better in Cleveleys.

Had some eggy bread this morning for possibly the first time in my life.

I make it for some of the kids but have never fancied it myself.

A celebration of greasy, spongey rankness that I'll not be having again.

I'm normally a microwave egg person which fits right in with the thread but might see me getting lynched 👀

Love a bit of eggy bread. Thick bread. Stick it on a hot griddle pan to crisp it up and get those markings. Bit of salt and pepper, brown sauce... lovely.

More meat in a rustlers burger.

Even at uni when I ate pasta and butter I drew the line at rustlers burgers.

Any product consisting of meat and bread which goes in a microwave can fuck off. How can you warm the meat sufficiently without fucking up the bread?

My mum used to get them from Cordon Bleu in Astley Bridge. Out on the ale at 17/18 and back for a steak canadian to mop it all up. I shall report back. Can’t wait. Pan fried, fried onions and English mustard on Warby’s toastie. They are a delicate blend of the finest beef and pork I’ll have you know. If there’s a bit of horse, toad, and few dead bluebottles in there I’ll suck it up
