Whitestar
I just remembered that my dad always used to refer to an estate car as a "Shooting brake" . This must have put me off as have never actually owned a shooting brake. He also used to call a small shop that sold alcohol " outdoor license", a woman that was expecting a baby "Kettling" and job centre was always the "labour exchange". Site Supporter MickyD Posted September 15, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted September 15, 2021 Tap water was referred to as either corporation pop or tappleade. I think the latter was passing homage to the number of different flavours of pop stocked by the Corona chap. Then the Alpine chap.
